Question Odd question on diesel fuel

I need an opinion here.

I have some really dirty fuel I drained out of my water seperator. Usually when I drain it I will check for dirt and water, if there is none or very little, I will dump the bottle back in the tank. This current bottle that I have with fuel in it I will not put back in the tank. Its pretty dirty. What to do with the fuel? I had an crazy idea.

I have a chimney starter for lightin the coals on my barbecue pit. The chimney starter works great but if I only use paper I have to use 2 or 3 sheets (newspaper page size) one at a time to get the coals goin. I have found that if I put a little veggie oil in the paper it will burn long enough to get the coals going using one sheet. I want to know if I could use the diesel fuel in place of the veggie oil. I feel resonably safe knowing that diesel does not flash over like gas. What do y'all think?

I think you'll end up with diesel fuel flavored hamburgers.

I've heard that your bbq will taste like whatever you started it with

If you let it burn until all the coals are white (have ash all over them) and there is no flame you should not have a bad taste. You might need to let them burn longer (and hotter) is all. That should burn off the fuel. Repeat ...SHOULD!

You might want to start with cheap hot dogs first instead of a $10 steak!

I just put my "excess" fuel in a pan and light it.

I make designs on the driveway and light it. And I wonder why my neighbors think I'm nuts.

No, don't dump it back into the tank! It's probably contaminated. Just because you don't see any dirt, it's still there, otherwise it wouldn't have been caught.

Take the contaminated fuel and burn it off. And, don't use it in the bbq.

Probably not environmentally friendly, but each time I change the filter, I use what I drained out to kill weeds in the driveway, or the occasional ant hill.

Probably spill that much in the driveway priming it up anyway, this way it's spilled where it might do some good.

Ahh that's awesome! However it looks like it could quite possibly be rubber fried chicken as well...

Same here,

I cut up pieces of crap MDF and let them soak in the fuel, then use them to start my wood stove.

You think it could be the little wiry guy gettin' in the jacked-up, straight-piped dodge, who races minivans?

HeHe, that's OK though. I don't know how many times my neigbors have called me in the middle of the night to ask me to stop shooting stuff. Well Excuse me, I didn't know people slept at 3AM, that's when all the furry woodland creatures are out, well that's when the frogs are out at least.

BTW, Frogs are turned into a gooey little mess on a rock when put face-to-face with the business end of a 12 gauge and custom-loaded shells . Never laughed so hard in my life
Chris

Oh just playin' BigBlue, I know they cant see you when you're trying to get in. This wouldn't be near as funny if I didn't know you're probably taller than me by a bit. Guess I just like to throw stones (we killed a few frogs that way, too!)
