NFL headed for a lockout?
Whats your thoughts on an increasing reality that the NFL may never be the same after 2010 with the cba issue in sight?

who cares i think they ought to treat them like real people and if they lose a game they either dont get paid or get half there pay. I am a semi retired pro athelete in the sport of rodeo and when i didnt win i didnt get jack . so they need to quit whining and go on about there over paid job

Someone needs to be an "adult" and figure out that:
1. All travel to and from games is paid for, including meals and hotels.
2. They have access to teams of sports medicine experts, personal trainers, and dieticians for almost any issue or injury they have.
3. They have access to some of the best weight rooms you could imagine.
4. You're making millions playing a injury prone game, so there is no excuse why you're not taking a more vested interest in your financial future. (This one bugs me the most.)
While the CBA is unfair to the owners and I can understand why there are some franchises opting out, you still signed on to that agreement. If you didn't have enough forward thinking on your part, or didn't examine the agreement closer, or even tried to work out a better deal ..... that's your fault. And the players are at fault for letting this happen, too.

Exactly, the players get a gold lining for every aspect of their life and they are greedy enough to want more, when the owners have made huge investments to promote their teams. The players need to not be celebrities, even if they do have a 100% injury rate. You wanted to play the game in the beginning, lets keep it that way.

I can't believe that I read the majority of that. I care so little about football, it's not even funny.
If football stopped, the worst thing that I would have to go through is listening everyone complain about it.
I agree with what others are saying about if they lose they take a cut...

I guess thats why I respect the games of curling and golf. Not to watch it, but if you, the player, do not produce, guess what??? YOU don't get paid. A few days of eating mac and cheese would definitely motivate people to bring up their game.
Ever watch the documentary's Faster, and the sequel Faster and Faster? Its about MotoPG and the riders. Those guys are the best of the best and RACE every 2 weeks all over the world. If they crash, they are not out for the season with a sprained finger (like in baseball or the NBA, hope I did not ruffle to many feathers there). The next time they race, its with sprains, broken bones, etc. They are machines!!!

Hard to give the players sympathy in THIS job market. Not a good time to be whining about working conditions.
I absolutely LOVE football. It's one of the things that keeps guys out of the woods when I'm trying to hunt and fish.

You could always take your degree in underwater basket weaving and sell insurance or cars.(no offense intended) or dig ditches,or log,or or or do something else.

That is why I watch college football. These guys are playing for school pride and school bragging rights. If they are hurt they still play. I see linemen with hands fully wrapped up because they are protecting a broken finger or wrist and still playing.
Most of these pro guys will stub a toe and take off for 2-3 games and STILL GET FULL PAY!! I absolutely do not feel sorry for these guys. I agree with above, if you lose, you get less money.
Not quite apples to apples but look at Nascar (or any motorsport), golf, tennis, rodeo, etc. If you don't do well you don't get paid. period, end of story.

I have to agree with the artillery here... Keeps the woods quieter...
And I know where sympathy is in the dictionary!
