Complete and utter bunk
I was in Iraq and I SAW what these people were forced into enduring everyday. Not all of us can hide in our little classrooms and spout our liberally warped views that poison our childrens minds. Some of us actually take responsible action and go out to right some of the wrongs in this world.
Naturally we don't for a second beleive we can possibly fix everything or even on too many fronts at one time. But at least we do come down out of our ivory towers and make an effort to help make the world a better place for everyone.

"Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and its always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger."

These oddly current words of wisdom were recorded at the Nuremberg Trials and were spoken by a leading proponent of war, Herman Goring.

BUSH MISLEADS ON SUPPORTING TROOPS
On the campaign trail, Bush has repeatedly presented himself as the
candidate who will unquestioningly provide American troops with the
resources they need. At a last minute stop in Dallas yesterday, Bush said
"there's nothing complicated about supporting our troops in combat."[1]
But there is mounting evidence that Bush sent troops to war without
essential equipment.
A recent investigation by 60 Minutes found "a lack of armored vehicles,
field radios, night vision goggles, and even ammunition -- especially
for the National Guard and reserve units that now make up more than 40
percent of U.S. troops."[2] Even though half of the injuries and deaths
suffered by U.S. forces are the result of roadside bombs "the U.S.
military still lacks thousands of fully armored vehicles that could save
American lives."[3] Part of the problem is that "most of the vehicles in
Iraq arrived there without armor plating, because the Pentagon war
planners didn't anticipate a long, bloody insurgency."[4]

Yes I also did 3 tours of Duty in Vietnam as well, I was also in Panama and numerous other places that I can not divulge. I have friends still serving in Iraq, many of my former students are also serving there now.
I hear from them on a regular basis I see the pictures they send me of the Iraqi people thanking them for being there. Yes you read it correctly, the Iraqis do in-fact love the American soldiers and are hopeful we will finish the job before leaving.
Relevant, of course it is on many levels not excluded to the fact that I actually have a dog in this hunt. (good ol boy statement meaning this election is being held in MY country)

Not every word issued by one side can or should be taken as the final story. The best lies contain some truth. Yes he did vote against a bill which would have increased moneys available for gear. Was it a good bill??
Why did George have to run off to war without looking after this stuff? What was the big hurry. 1991 to 2002 is eleven years.
If the military was in such sad shape after eight long and terrible years of relative peace, how was George able to turn it into the perfect instrument so quickly? I thought he said that the troops were all ready before the invasion?
Worms???????? Who are you, Robin Redbreast? Watch the name calling.
Worms... we don't need no steeenking worms.

I did however, learn a bit about the goings on in the world in my limited and protected life. I can see now why you must take the views you do.

Tell you what Jack. About 80% of what you say I disagree with but i have to admire your ability to keep it together when some of your "helpers" on these threads seem to antaginize (sp) folks who disagree with them .
Not that it is one sided by any means but the "leaders" are supposed to set examples, not "stir" things up.
Glad this election thing is coming to a close, bet you and your referees are too.
Hillarys waiting in the wings you know!!

I also have absolutely no trouble seeing why you have such a warped view of the facts either. But be that as it may, I respect your right to feel any way you wish to. In fact I spent most of my life being sure you and all the other free people in this world are still free
If I had it to do all over again, I would be the first to sign up! Yes and I would still grab a rifle and help defend Canada if it came to that. We may not agree but when it comes down to push and shove you can count on me as you can most of these awful Americans you despise so much.
