I found that with most of the Glocks I held. That or thee grips where too short for my hand to be confortable. I did try a 27 once and it actually felt alright.
As for no manual safety, the person holding the gun is the ultimate safety. My 96D has no safety. But that is why it has a 38# trigger with a three inch pull (yes I'm exagerating). That is the one thing I don't like about it. But for personal protection it will do it's job. Inside of 10 yards I can group about three inches in a hurry. Not great but good enough. I do like the Baby Eagles too. I'm solid to 25 yards when plinking with it.
