new grass

I live in the N.Y. Whats the earliest that I can plant for a new lawn? I'm starting from scratch. The yard is now just a rough grade so I'm bringing in yards and yards of top soil, seed and hay. Comments or suggestions.

Thanks

I can't say for sure, but I can say use anything that scott's has That's really good stuff. A buddy of mine uses their stuff and has a perfectly green lawn, thick with no dull/light spots or thin areas. I love it but he cuts it so high it kind of sucks to walk through.
