New Gizmo

Thought it was a cool product so I figured what the heck and ordered one. Reviews have been real positive. Has anyone tried it? I could see where this can save a bunch of money.

A friend of mine has had this at his place for about a month. He says he has had no problems. I can tell no difference versus his normal phone lines. I am going to put an order in probably in the next month as well.

That's good to hear, BlackSunShyne. I should have it here in the week, I'm curious to see how well it works. I was paying $60.00 a month for a land line and after a year gave it up because there was no better option at the time, been using my cell phone ever since, now I can down grade my plan to save more cash.

I'm sure the phone company will figure out how to kill it or profit off it soon enough.

Yeah, what they'll do is double broadband prices.

Let us know how it works. I'm all for saving money!

There are some programs out there for the windows mobile based smartphones that'll do the same thing as that if you have a wifi connection, saves on your plan minutes and you use your cell phone to make the calls, kinda like tmobile hotspot voip but free. Just a heads up if anyone has one of these phones.

Let us know how it works out. Looks like you could just have a minimum cell phone and a free (less $40 purchase) home phone. Maybe a small business phone.

cool

MikeD I am in exactly the same boat...I can't see paying $60/month for something I hardly ever use...tried calling the phone company to cheapin it up some, but they only have "packages", which is annoying. Let us all know how it works out, i will be ordering one very soon to I think...
