I am willing to bet # 1 that the challenger weighs more then the stang and the Dodge truck may weigh mroe then the ford. Also who knows that challenger may have a concrete trunk and the mustang my not have ANY motor/tranny/axle/interior/anything but a body and wheels~!
I would put my money on the new hemi against about any of the new 1/2tons in a drag race!! Or really any stock truck other then the lightning or maybe the chevy ss!

 

BTW HEMI = 345hp @ 5200RPM and 375 TQ @ 4200RPM
Ford = 300hp @ 5000RPM and 365 TQ @ 3750RPM

 

Have yall seen the other new F150 Commerical with the F150 pullin the Hemi and the Chevy like a tiller? The ford is just pullin them across a field and the Dodge and chevy have their brakes locked. Its funny!

 

i wouldnt put it past the FURD commerical guys to use a fake plastic car, aluminum trailer, and put a throttle stop on the dodge just so they could make the commercial

i wish i could contact DODGE and give them a few ideas i have for a few commercials,.... heres one....

sceene opens up with 2 scruffy guys going to work in a cummins turbo diesel [but you dont know what kind of truck it is, just filmed with a upper chest shot and showing their faces]

they pull into traffic real slow and at the next light they see the new 6.0 PSD FURD lined up with the open space to the right, the 2 scruffy guys pull up next and exchange eye contact with the guy in the ford, FURD BOY smurks...

Scruffy guy 2 looks at driver of Cummins and says, mmmm yup, thats one of those new PSD FURD came out with, supposed to be real fast too...
Scruffy guy 1 {driver} sighs and checks the lights to see when he is going to get the green light... makes another eye contact with PSD guy... you know whats going to happen next...

Light goes green and the PSD barely walks past the Cummins and gets 2, 3, and then 4 lengths on the dodge and they let out at the same time....
Scruffy guy 2 looks at driver, and says, yeah, i thought they were kinda fast.... shrugs, and gives the "who gives a darned expression"...

they show up to the job site and now the camera pans out for a side view of the DODGE with a 5TH WHEEL TRAILER and a JOHN DEERE 310E BACKHOE, TRUCK BED FULL OF GEAR READY TO GET TODAYS JOB DONE!!!!!!...

GUYS are getting out and start laughing at what just happened, putting on gloves, scruffy guy 2 says "what are we going to eat for lunch today"

driver mentions something about taking the trailer off and going hunting for a rematch ;D

I WOULD LOVE TO MAKE COMMERCIALS!!!!

Isn't "Hemi" a trademark?

Wouldn't Ford Ad guys be breaking some trademark law by using the truck and the name in their commercial, without DC's permission?

Not to mention copying the Dodge commercials, which I'm sure are copyrighted.

Ford hasn't made a commercial that didn't insite a chuckle in quite a while.

I rode in a 1500 hemi last weekend with a open element intake and some kind of exhaust system. Might have had a TB spacer, I don't know. It was fast. He could get a chirp in third and it was an auto. He probably had $500 in go fast parts, and I guarentee that that truck could beat a PSD or cummins with the equal ammount of $$ invested. I've got and EZ on mine, and he would kill me. Let furd tell their boys they can beat a hemi, they'll find out on the street. Every furd guy I knew thought he had the fastest thing around anyway, even if it had a four banger or V6.

 

How about the idiotic Chevy commercial where they pull a backhoe out of the soup? Like that's some kind of big deal or something. My favorite part is where the guy says into his radio..."We got a situation here, what's your 20?" and then the cool guy comes back in his best Clark Gable..."I'm on it". If just heard the sound, I'd swear I was listening to a Fisher Price Commercial for the Big Boy Rescue Set. If I could have a day at work where something like that only happened ONCE I'd be esctatic (sp?)

P.S. I'm not a real numbers guy, but my dealer foolishly let me drive a 1500 HEMI while my truck was in the shop for service, and I can tell you that that thing can GET IT ON. I rented an 04 Ford 1/2 ton when I was on a business trip, and though I'm wasn't sure what it had for power, I did notice it was pukin dog sick compared to that Hemi. No contest. When I returned it, I asked the kid what engine it had, and he replied "I don't know but I know it has 300 horse power, It's pretty awesome isn't it?" I haven't seen the commercial yet, but I was quite amused to read about it here, after that little incident.

Im not trying to talk up the PSD or anything but it has a 500 dollar chip in it and that hemi was getting beat by two trucks at least and the PSD weighs 7600 lbs. Trust me I wasnt happy about it other than the fact that it was a diesel smoking a gas motor. But I like to give credit where credit is due.

 

I'm waiting for the Ford commercial with a new PSD hauling a Boss 429 "hemi" Mustang.

 

I think Furd commercials are getting to me, I feel the need to race a PSD every chance I get. Then again I get that feeling with a D'max. Must be something in the water

It's a shame you gotta get nearly blow the motors up to get all the power out of them. I think I'll stick with my low end torque and horsepower Cummins.
