Last year, we had a Mercedes "G" Wagon in our sound garage fitting it with one of our audio systems. That thing was butt ugly! A big green box that kind of reminded of the VW "Thing" from the 60's. You couldn't give me one of those "G" Wagons......oh alright..I'd take it if you gave it to me. :

It seems that DC has already done their homework on this one. UPS has already ordered a good number of the vans along with FedEx.

Here is a story the Louisville paper did on them.

New Dodge Van

They say the van get's 22mpg if so I'm sure once they are out on the road lots of companies will have them in their fleets.

DB

Having worked at UPS for 9 years in a previous life I can tell you - no UPS driver will ever get 22 mpg out of one of them.

As all of the UPS mechanics have learned the drivers have two modes of driving - FULL GO and FULL WHOA. They are professional toggle-footed drivers. Also, the old saying about anvils and rubber mallets applies - if it on the package car and can be broke they can break it.

My best friend's new brown sauna-on-wheels (or rolling refrigerator on days like today) has a PSD in it Too bad they didn't opt for the optional Cummins that can be had in those chassis.
