Well, the 5.7L Hemi is a great little engine...but if you have big loads to pull and don't want to cough up over $5,000 for the diesel (even though it is an amazing engine)...you got to go the big cubic inch gas route. <br><br>I've heard rumors of a larger Hemi V-8 and another rumor of a Hemi V-10. Does anyone here know what the 2500/3500 Dodge's will get in terms of a big gasser and when it will arrive?<br><br>Thanks,<br><br>Justin.<br><br>

I'm hearing now that a 6.1 L version of the Hemi might be out next year? So far, I figure three different options.<br><br>1. New V-10 based off Viper's new V-10<br>2. Bored or stroked version of the current 5.7L Hemi. (6.1L)<br>3. A Hemi V-10<br><br>Anyone here know of anything else?<br><br>Justin.

I have pretty much speculated and heard the same things as you. The only other one I have heard is just throwing two more cylinders on the 5.7 hemi and having roughly a 7.1 hemi v-10. I find a lot of info on the buzz section of www.car-truck.com<br>later<br>jim

ya i saw 1500 2wd singal cab hemi the other day i wanted to drive it so bad that thing probally hauls some serious bleep!!!

Forgot to mention this above, but the v-10 may be based off the 6.1 rather than the 5.7 and it would be a 7.6 liter v-10. My vote is on a truck version of the new 8.3 liter viper engine.

Bullfrogjim,<br><br>Once again, thanks for the reply. <br><br>Even though I've been raised around diesels, I've always had a special place in my heart (how romantic!) for big cubic-inch gas engines. Yeah, they suck more fuel, etc, etc...but I love 'em...<br><br>I like GM's new Vortec 8100 (even though they could have made (maybe 50hp/50ft-lb's) more power with it), but I want to wait and see what Dodge will bring out...yes, the 8.0L V-10 used currently is a solid motor, but I'm sure the new one (be it bigger V-8 or V-10) will be even stronger, yet much more efficient on every gallon on gas as well.<br><br>Justin.
