I have a set of Better Built folding aluminum ramps for my ATV and it works great...but, a friend of mine broke a tailgate strap while loading his ATV in his Chevy truck, damage both the tailgate and the ATV, lucky he didn't get hurt. I wised up and bought a trailer with an airgate.

I can sympathize with you. Seems like everytime something like this happens, the whole world is watching. A couple of years ago my hunting buddy was loading his 4-wheeler in the back of his truck with his grandson watching. He had not used the 4-wheeler in some time and did not know it but the brakes were not "pumped", in other words, he had no brakes. Ended up doing about $1,400 damage to the back of the cab and window. Being his 7 year old grandson was watching, he could not even say a few choice words to relive the frustration.

thanks for the moral support fellas...it coulda been MUCH worse!! if i hadn't kicked the handle bars with my feet the 750lb beast would have fallen on me!! the ramps were just a set of atv ramps that a lot of people around here used, and that i've had for a while and used w/ no problems on my other bikes. i guess what i didn't account for was that this is the biggest bike i've ever owned and i was probably over the weight limit. i think i'd feel more comfortable with a nice set of curved ramps!!
i like the ramps that ed posted, but noticed on the website that they're for motorcycles and i don't think they'll be wide enuf at 36"?? anybody got any links for curved atv ramps??
bigblue...i thought about doing something like that but was concerned with all that weight riding on the tailgate??
later, dustin
