Neti pots... Have ya used one and did it help

Got a mild sinus thing going, getting bad enough my cheek hurts.
Couple people have suggested a Neti pot would help and I've been reading online about them but I was curious if any of y'all have use one and if so did it help or hurt things?

I have used them. Won't help much if there's an infection. I'd also suggest finding someone or someplace that does aromatherapy. Get the stuff for doing a steam. There are several oils in a correctly blended sinus mix.
I boil water, place in a sink, add the mix and put a towel over your head. Inhale deeply and hold several times.
I use it in the shower too.

What you are talking about is a product by NeilMed. I have used both the Neti pot and their bottle. I much prefer the bottle. You can control the flow much better. As stated, the first time used is interesting until you get the hang of it, but if I am having a problem, it is great. You can get it all in one package at Walmart, Sams or Costco the cheapest. It will have the bottle and about 50 packets of the powder mix. Just don't have the wife in the bathroom the first time you use it or she will laugh you out of the house. It is a bit disgusting but wow does it do a number. Use a bit, let I sit and do its thing, then finish with a flourish. You will love it.

Right now I'm ready to take a power drill and get ghe pressure off my cheekbone!
Worse than a toothache, probably cause it's dead here today and I've nothing to do but think about it

I have used them with good results.

Use hot bottled water, your hot water tank may contain algaes and other stuff you don't want in your head.

Kosher salt rather than table salt.

Set a cup of the hot water aside, when it is comfortable to drink its probably ok to put in your nostrils...

I never had a sinus infection when I used to surf and took a noseful of water just about every time out!!

try to relax and just let it soak and drain, leaning to the side and down a bit works best for me....

I started with the pot but my MD suggested the bottles and gave me one to start. I use it once or twice a week routinely and more often with allergies or colds. I found that using it while showering with hot water is less messy and quite effective.

The BOSS got presribed one but would not try it till I did. it was the bottle. Tilt your head towards your chest, hold your breath as let er rip. Depending on the saline level, may burn a bit, but really gets rid of the crud. Now I do it every few days.

Somebody will probably have a comment to make about this but a Fleets enema bottle (a brand new one) worked pretty well for me until I bought a regular bottle.

Bark - - you are crazy, man. Leave it to you to think of a Fleet enema for a bottle for that. I can see water all over the whole bathroom. LOL - - - crazy man.
