Need some help for my 8 year old's class project
My 8 year old son, Tristen, has a class project that I was wondering if you could help me with...
Let me explain:
His 2nd grade teacher put a black and white map of the country up on the wall, and told them that they were to talk to their family and friends and see if they would be kind enough to send a post card from where ever they live in the country. As the post cards come in, they get to color in the state where the cards come from. If that wasn't a big enough project, the teacher decised to up the anty and replaces the country map with a map of the world! My son asked me how he was going to contact people in different countries to ask them if they would send in a post card, when we don't know anyone in different countries. He asked if we could just pick up the phone and dial some numbers and ask whoever answers the phone if they would help?? ( I am still chuckling over that) I told him I would help him however I could...I thought about it for a while, and I posted a message on the Linux Mandrake Message board, and thought that I might post a message here as well. No need to worry about duplicates the more the merrier!!
So if any of you are interested in helping out.....or know anyone who might be interested, please pass this along..to anyone, anywhere, in the world.
Here is the address to send the post card to: ( TC is my son's initials)
TC C/O

Thank you very much!!

Thank you!!
The dead line is June 3rd..when School is out..
I really appreciate the help!!
I think it would be pretty special for him to see the many, many cards that could show up from people all over the world who just do nice things for someone else. I try to teach that to my kids, every time I have stopped and changed a tire for someone, or pulled someone out of the ditch, I have never accepted any money...I want the kids to see that it's ok to do something for a thank you....and that if you ask for help, there are many, many people who will respond...
Thanks Again!!

Just kidding. That is great. Even though I don't have children yet, I do the same things. Not many people to pull out of ditches (wish there were!), but I have helped quite a few people out. Feels really nice to help someone else out.

I put your message on a British board that has input from Europe and down to Egypt. Have no idea if it will be of interest to them, but it is a try. They are a nice bunch of parrot lovers. You think CTD lovers are screwballs, the bird lovers are worse
