Need help with stalling gasser Dakota

I am trying to figure out why my mom's 92 Dakota 5.2 liter is stalling at an idle. It runs excellent at anything above an idle, but when you pull up to a light it dies if you don't keep the revs up a little. Can I pull any codes from the computer? Is it an idle solenoid? HELP?????

Some of the dodges back then had sticky pintles on the air idle motor. This was caused by blowby coming back into the plenum and coating it with mung. Causing it to stick at an idle when you come to a stop, mostly when its hot. Take it apart and clean it and its bore with carb cleaner do not move the pintle or it may have to be reset (A ***** star item). Not 100% sure about the Dakotas having this problem but my caravan did and it was a pain to find. Good Luck

how does thae battery seem. if they crank slow the computers adaptave memory will be erased. there is a ais motor relearn i am not sure on 92 models. i know some you get it fully warmed up and let it run in reverse with your foot on the throttle at 1,000 rpms for 5 minutes and the computer would relearn. there are lots of other things that could cause it. intake plenum leak or a bad ais motor. even if the relearn helps if the battery is going sour and it cranks slow it will go back to stalling.

This is easy!!!
The throttle body has a Idle air motor that has gone bad. Napa for about $30-35.
To test it, do this.
Get the engine running the speed you like and unplug the IAM. This will set a code but it goes away when reconnected. When it is unplugged it should idle correctly. Let us know!
When you have a new IAM don't touch/move the plunger.
