Need exterminator!! ha ha

Well, the gremlins are back in my house, it seems.

The first week of October netted me the following: Dishwasher broke, Tahoe starter no starty, garage door opener shaft failure, fined for not having dog on leash, passenger mirror on Ram lost heat feature!!!

What next??

I feel for you man. When it rains it pours don't it. Son called last night at 11:15 (we all went to the county fair so it was excusable at that time) and claims someone had slashed his tire. I knew the darn truck lacked a lug wrench and the jack is questionable (can't stand scissor style jacks) and that's my fault. He got a ride home with another friend and left the truck (98 3/4 ton Chebby 4x4) in a Target parking lot.

Mom got him to school this morning so off I went to put spare on it so it would be ready for him to go get after school. Wouldn't you know the friggin spare was flat....and dry-rotted. The supposed slashed tire had somehow let go where the tread meets the sidewall....did he run over something.....I'll never know, you know how kids tend to keep secrets. 4 places that thing came apart, oh well.

Got to tire shop and wouldn't you know it, no used 10-ply 16"ers....only new to the tune of $150 a piece. Had to have em' so I got em. $300 for 2 tires and then another $60 at Harbor Freight for him a breaker bar, socket set, and bottle jack. I'm tapped out until next Friday. Hope no one in the household needs anything from me....I'm done. Last 2 days between school pmts, fuel, daycare, tires, etc has cost me a thousand bucks.

I'm now taking donations!!!!!

Oh Man that stings! Glad it wasn't vandalism though, that really chaps me.

Reminds me of the time our old mechanic looks at me and says, "You gonna tell your old man you been e-braking this truck, or am I?" I knew I was in for it, but the rear axle never failed us again after that!

And I know what you mean about finding good used tires for trucks, not many around in this economy!!

Don't you just hate it when somebody else finds out what you've been doing and then threatens to blackmail you??

Usually it was more along the lines of "what the _ _ _ _ else can go wrong?". And usually something worse ended up going wrong, usually something stupid on his part.

Now what, why me and why us is an all to common phrase aroung here,

Usually for us when everything starts falling apart and you are thinking what else can possibly go wrong, something just a little worse always comes along, lack of money, health, illness an accident or someone near like a relative or a close friend passes away.

I have lost 12 close friends within the past 6 years including my brother; last friend lost was just last month.

I dislike all of the people who are selfish, evil, nasty and they always come out smelling like a rose.

I usually answer the telephone with the single word, "WHY?"

I am still smiling! A long time ago I slipped on a ramp and fell to the ground with a 24" extension ladder. Didn't get hurt, just looked to the sky and yelled "what are you trying to tell me?!?"

I started laughing and thought I would rather be lying here in the mountains in this beautiful valley staring up at the sky than anywhere else in the world at the time and figured it was just a nudge from Him saying look what I made.

It made a big impact on my life and how I deal with minor stuff. Thankful for the opportunity to have a broken dishwasher, broken vehicles, garage door opener and bad dog, all of which I have the skills to deal with myself.

1st world problems, right?

I know how you feel. I bought the truck and a fifth wheel camper last fall. Figured I'd be playing all summer, instead of fixin' all summer. Still have new guts for the fridge to put in, and the truck has to go back to the transmission shop to fix one last bug.

Could complain, but I'm healthy, and able to keep going. When I get the opportunity, I'll lay patches on the pavement getting out of here with the fiver, boat, and better half.
