Natural gas fired fireplace inserts...
I'm thinking about buying one.
Anyone have one?
If not a fireplace insert, do you have any kind of natural gas stove?
How do you like your natural gas fireplace/stove?
Thanks!
DT.

I got one and love it...Wouldn't trade it for anything!
Mine is an insert type, Ventless, that runs off of LP gas. Seems very cheap to operate and puts out good heat.
I like watching it burn about better than watching TV!

We installed a Pacific Fire Place insert It Varies from 21500BTUs on low to 29000BTUs on High It has a fan that assists in forcing the air into the room This has a vent system that allows it to burn outside air for combustion and vent the exhaust outside as well.
It is rated above 90% efficient with the fan and aprox 85 without the fan.
The reason that we chose this model is, We are retired and go south to the States in the winter and if we lost power to the house the Fireplace will come on (without the fan) when the room temperature goes below 55 degrees F. This may not prevent the house from eventually freezing but it would increase the time before it happened and hopfully by that time the power would be restored.

You can't beat the cackley warmth of a good log. You can't underestimate the cackle-affect, as each cackle is good for at least 5 BTU's.
We got a natural gas starter system in our fireplace- no more kindling. It's like a miniature flamethrower if you turn it too much.
Humor me, please. I don't really know what your talking about...
