NAPA frustration
Really just looking for any suggestions. Not bashing.
Heading out to Dad's near Kearney,Ne last weekend. Near Elk Mountain I lose the alternator at night. Get into Laramie and crash for the night. Up early calling part stores, only alternator is in Cheyenne at NAPA. Get jump started and head over Sherman, gauges going on and off (more off), coast down last hill on 1-80 into Cheyenne past Little America, truck is sputtering cutting out, my time is limited! Finally it just dies, 3 miles from NAPA, get NAPA on the phone for delivery. I pull the batteries and Alt before they get there. Batteries were dated Aug 2000 are 850 CA. NAPA say " We don;t have the ones for your truck but we do have a cheaper brand that will work" OK!. Come to find out 3 days later they are only 650 CA and now will barely turn the engine over to start. Went by there on the way home (Memorial Day) but they were closed. Cheyenne NAPA say's bring them back and we will change them out. OK, drive 600 mile rt to do that, only if they pay for the gas... reply, no.
I want them to work it out with my local store and get these changed but am told they can't. I was sold the wrong batteries and was told they would work and they do not. After getting nowhere I just filed a complaint with HQ in Atlanta and am waiting for a reply.
Does anyone have any experience w/ Napa HQ?
Thanks for the vent .

I can't count the number of times I've got the wrong parts from them recently. Thing is, they don't care either. I've made it a point to tell them when I bring the wrong parts back so they can correct it, and they just throw it in the return bin and call up the next customer. If it wouldn't be for the discount I get there due to my dad having and account there, I'd find another parts place.

Did you just take their word on the batts? I wouldn't do that at ANY parts place. When mine die, I'm going to Optima or Odyssey batteries.

Well I kept thinking to myself ..... I wonder what HOHN'S number is? Yea, I was. Ya know I just forgot to look at the cranking amps , all wound up, a day late getting to my dad's to help him get stuff done at the ranch.
It gets worse now though. I was doing some chores at the horse corrals. Starting and stopping the engine 3 times in about 10 minutes, 4th time was nothing. OK, maybe the clutch safety switch went bad all of a sudden, I cut the wires and shorted it and still nothing. Called the misses for a jump that didn't do squat so the misses pull started me with the Sorrento. I let the truck run 5 min and then shut it off and it started back up but turned over very very slowly.
Those **** batteries .
