MY SON is HERE! (3/22/07)
Well it was a very long day but all is well with mom and baby. We didn't tell anyone the name before he was born but we told a lot of my family that they could probably guess the middle name... only one of my friends did...
ADAM MICAIAH HANCHETT was born at 5:00PM central time on March 22, 2007. He was 8lbs 11.25oz and 22 inches long
My wife was planning on going natural but didn't tell anyone incase she needed the epidural... she did! She progressed from 1cm to 6cm in just about 2 hours (very fast) 30 minutes of that was me flying down the shoulder of the highway in rush hour traffic. I'm so proud of her, she pushed (every contraction) for well over 4 hours. At the worst possible time the epidural ran out . She developed a slight fever so they told her he had to be out in 1/2 hour (1hr from the time she developed the fever) Audrey is just as stubborn as me and did NOT was a c-section, especially after having pushed for over 3 hours at this point. She progressed enough in that 1/2 hour that they let her finish birthing naturally. I don't know where she found the stregth after that long to keep pushing but she did. I will post pictures soon, I promise.

Congratulations. Is this your first?
You mentioned that you don't know where she got the strength to keep pushing, but I'd imagine that having something that big trying to squeeze between her legs like that, she'd have the strength for as long as it took. My son was 8 lbs. 12 oz. and 22 in. long as well. My wife was in labor for almost 24 hours, and she gave birth naturally. I guess that's why we only had the one.
