My Handy work. (not truck related)

Just thought I'd show you all what I've been up to for the last three weekends. My wife and I buy and sell/lease real estate. We are usually to busy to work on our own house. But here is some of my work that I did on our Kitchen. New counter tops, New range top, New sink with faucet, New hoof above range, New tile back splash.

Sure hope my wife don't see that,,,,,,,,,,,,, she's been after me to do some home projects and I'm running out of excuses.

Looks good Rusty. Any tips for the rest of us if we decide to dive in and add a tiled backsplash?

My only advice is to draw gridlines on your sheetrock to line up your tiles and the biggest thing is to take your time. Even if it takes you all weekend. And don't hesitate to take it back down if you don't like the way it's turnning out. I've tiled several floors but this was my first wall. It's quite a bit harder than a floor. When working on the floor you have gravity working on your side.

I am in middle of same project but still need to rip out old tile and grind off thin set before moving on to install. What a dusty job, hang plastic and put fan in window cant wait. planning on demo this weekend. Project started out w/ just laundry room and now its "Honey how about new cabinets and tile." --remember that marriage thread a while back -- yes dear any thing you want dear -- whats mine is hers and whats hers is hers.

Looks great, Rusty! I really like the double raised-panel cupboard doors.
