My driver arrested for parking ticket
I was sleeping the other night and my phone rang at 12:30. My driver had been pulled over for having his high beams on. The cop ran his license and said there was a warrant for him from an unpaid parking ticket from 2000. How did this never catch up with him? He was only 5 miles from one of my farms where he was supposed to drop a load of horses. THe cop said they couldn't go until some one came to get the horses, I arrived, talked with the cop, and left with the horses. AT least the cop had enough brains to not leave the horses unattended. SO, I unload the horses, got bail money, a whopping $135, and went to pick him up. I know he should have paid the ticket, but Edit happens. I am frusterated with the DOT, law enforcemnt, etc. HOW can you register a truck for 6 years and not have this fine/warrent show up? Plus he has renewed his driver license twice since 2000. Plus, last fall he got is CDL AND NO ONE SAID SQUAT. How does that happen? he has been pulled over before, mostly out of state. We're going to pay the fine and go on about our lives, but it is frustrating that something so small as a $5 ticket from 6 years ago could be so irritating. If you want to play, you gotta follow the rules, I guess.

it's amazing how in-efficient our Gov't infrastructure is.
guy at work got taxes from 1992 in Connecticut - $800 cost, $700 interest..duh?
we got taxes from 2000 year motorcycle from Georgia.
just incompetence on Gov't's part.

Well ya know it could be turned around..
Why did he not pay his ticket? At least the gov' remembered the ticket, doesnt look like he did or else he woulda paid it
That is weird how it went so long especially with his name in front of the DMV so long and not having it show up.
Who knows, be glad at least it wasnt nothin too serious!

Here, anyway, I don't believe DMV has access to the database that deals with warrants.
Also, a warrant is essentially a written order by a judge commanding any law enforcement officer who contacts the named person to arrest him/her. It is one of those situations where the officer has no choice...

Yeah, what right do those idiots at the DMV have not to inform us of that stuff... I don't mind waiting a little longer in line if it means getting parking tickets cleaned up. And those pesky out-of-state cops... WHERE are their priorities? They should check ALL out of staters for minor, traffic warrants. I'll bet if they looked hard enuff, they'd find a dumb prosecutor with deep pockets, that'll pay for extradition for a little parking ticket... or at least hold the poor drivers hand, directing him how to make arrangements with any of 50 states.
