My doggie died today... (German Shepard)
Not a good day for me. I came out this morning to feed the horses and looked to be greated by my dog. Not even a look. Called her 3 times. She didn't even budge. I knew it was bad. Feed the horses and came back to check on her. She was dead. Said a prayer for her and buried her this morning. I got her when she was 2. Had her checked at the vet and she had heart worms. Tried to treat her to prevent more with no success. She lived an addition 8 years. Feed her and saw to her every need. Gonna miss her. The last 8 years she had a good life.

We have a GSD and she just turned 6....we have had her since she was 5 weeks old......she is a member of our family. I can't imagine losing her.
Do you have any pics of her?

Sorry.
I'm sorry to hear 'bout your best friend. I had a black German Shepherd, below, that I had to put down last September. She was a week from 13 and had been next to me since she was 6 weeks old. It was one of the hardest things I have done. Puttin' her down almost killed me.
On a lighter note, I finally decided on her successor.....Dudley Sue...my new little girl. She is an Anatolian Shepherd. She was born April 16th. I have some photos on my band website if you want to look at them and cheer up a little.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Sorry to hear about your dog Spooler. I lost my 14 year old beagle yesterday morning also. He was getting tumors in his rear end and started having problems. We were going to take him to the vet yesterday morning to put him down, but mother nature got to him first. Kind of a bummer, but its a part of pet ownership that none of us like.
