Musty smell comes from A/C when 1st starts
I looked in my owners manual to see if there is some sort fo air filter for the air unit but it doesn't show anything. Can anyone tell me what I'm looking for as the cause and maybe a repair for it? Thanks
I did a search function on this and nothing showed up

There can be build up of stuff on the evaporator core, causing smell when first on. There are after factory sparys that you can use to get rid of the smell. One of the best ways is to wash the evaporator to remove the stuff from it.
As for stuff, I am really not sure what it is, but yes it is an ugly smell. The after factory spray does take care of the enzimes that are living on your evaporator.

Just as belgianmagic stated - When I am about 2 miles before I know that I am going to arrive at my destination I turn mine to just the fan and haven't had any problems. So that equates to the 3-5 mins and it still has cool enough air blowing out so that I am not uncomfortable. Agreed that it can be musky otherwise. Expecially if you live in an environment where it is really humid outside.
