Unfourtunatly, there are many who use those vehicles in a sensible manner.
Why ban the vehicle?
Deal with the individual that's 'supposed to be' in control.

I have no use for bikes. They are just too dangerous for me. It doesent matter how careful, or how good of a rider you are, there will always be people in bigger vehicles than you that will plow over you. The odds are always staked against you. Its hard for me to justify that, eventhough I know how much fun they are.
I know there are allot more dangerous things in this world, but Ill take my chances on this one and stick to my truck for transportation.

The main rule for survival I've found it to ride like you're invisable.
Because 9 times out of 10, the 1st thing out of the "Cagers" mouth post collision will be
"I didn't see him".
I've heard it too many times myself after a driver pulls a bonehead move and almost runs over me.
I just learned to expect them to do it.
So when it happens, I'm already preparing my evasive move.

Fellers - I raced a ZX-6R in 97, 98, & 99 in WERA. It was fun, but very dangerous. On the street from time to time I would sport around when there was no other traffic to affect me or vice-versa. But I was always scared to death what the other drivers may do. So I was 99% sane around other vehicles.
It tears me up to read about the stupid things people do on motorcycles. And the senseless deaths. The speedometer in the video was in m.p.h. because 180 kph is only 111.8 mph ... and he was doing a lot more than that.
I rode with a bunch of morons from time to time on the street. I'd let'em get ahead, or split off from them, or not go with them to start with. I sure hope my boys don't take to liking sport bikes as much as me.

Reminds of the old saying: guns don't kill people; people kill people.

one thing with those bike is they tend to read fast unless they get some sort of calibration done to it. my buddy has a honda 600 and that thing, i know personally, will do 160. he'll ride next to me coming back in from town and he said he doing 75-76 when i'm only doing 70. but who know if his was right or not

You'll always find lots of BS when talking about how fast things go. There was a guy on this site who said his old Honda 1100 Magna would do 189 because he read it in a Guinness World Record Book. Stock, that bike couldn't go that fast if it was pushed out the cargo door of a C135. I don't pay attention to those knuckleheads anymore.
My little brothers Cigarette had 3 speeds: one that he told the insurance company; one that he told sitting at the bar; and the one that he read off the GPS.
