Most likely the greatest living guitar player..

This guy is so good that I think only someone who has struggled with guitar for many years can truly appreciate the level of execution he delivers.

There are many people who can sound notes on guitar. But those who can play so well the mechanics of it disappear and leave behind only passion and emotion are the rarest of the rare.

His name will probably ring a bell: Derek Trucks

Stunning.

Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks on stage together with Greg Allman and the Brothers is unreal. I saw the Allman Bros. with Bob Weir and Ratdog. What an awesome evening of music.

Sounds good, almost sounds like a piano note when he plays.

Another incredible guitarist is John McLaughlin. I saw the original Mahavishnu Orchestra with Jeff Beck as the backup band in '75 (?) at the Music Hall in Houston. No light show, just blow you away music. Ed B

Greatest Guitar player list would not be complete without Phil Keaggy.

http://www.philkeaggy.com/

The Question: "Who is the best guitarist in the world?"
Rumors have followed Keaggy for years that Jimi Hendrix had supposedly named him as his answer to the question Johnny Carson asked him, "who is the best guitarist in the world?" while making an appearance on The Tonight Show.
Another version of the story goes something like, "Jimi, how does it feel to be the world's greatest guitar player?" To which Jimi supposedly replied, "I don't know, you'll have to ask Phil Keaggy!"
