I have 2 50' ft refer trailers I use for storage. one for tools one for toys. They are parked side by side, My 22' gooseneck trailer is parked behind them which acts as a landing.

I keep the plates current on the units (about $20/unit/year) which keeps the city off my tail. The county can not access them as they are a licensed trailer. (saves me about $400 yr in taxes)

The advantages to trailers are they can be moved easier, the disadvantages is its height to the deck. I found mine on E-Bay for a $1000 a piece..

I have a friend who lives out in the high desert and he took 2 of them and buried them underground, on one of them he carved out a driveway and the other one is set up to enter like a bunker. If you did not know about them you could walk right past them.

There are several companies out here that get newer ones and cut in a door and window, insulate them and stick a mobile roof air on top and rent them out for things like guard shacks and portable offices.

My armory over in Kuwait was a 40' con-x container. Like an oven in the day and a freezer at night. We would get condensation on the inside walls, but we had the doors open on it pretty regularly to issue weapons, so that was probably the reason. Had to keep a light coat of lube on all the weapons 24/7 or they'd rust. It was rain proof though. We had a couple of good storms there and it stayed dry inside.
