Heh, if they are any good I'd buy one. Would be a nice little delivery truck and kinda interesting.
I wouldn't feel cheap driving it... I'd umm feel "interesting", and no that doesn't mean queer . It would be like my little anti UAW conversation piece.

You know, back in the late 60s and early 70s when Japan was sending over some small cars and trucks........everybody was laughing at them too.
Now look at the Japanese cars/trucks! Now they set the standard for quality.
Then the Korean makes started coming a few years ago...and they sell like hotcakes.
Would I want one of those trucks like they look there?......prob not. But if there is a need, somebody will fill it....and this truck might fit a niche market.
To bad that Dodge, Chebby, Ferd can't build something like it.....cause 20 years from now.......half of America (if there is an America after BO gets finished with it)..........may be driving the 2030 model of this Indian made truck.

I would buy one in a heart beat! If the trucks are half as good as their tractors then you dont have to worry about quality! Mahindra is a very well known international company from everything I researched on their tractors. They are known for their quality. I have read a lot of stuff on them over the last three or four years.
All I would have to do is build me a little goose neck trailer and hitch for it so I could haul my Jeep! I wonder what the frame looks like under it?

The last thing I think about India is quality. I work for an engineering contractor and there are a few indian competitors. I have seen some of the work they do and its crap. Once the work is sent over there who knows who's working on it. But they charge 1/2 the amount so of course it looks tempting to any manager.
Satyam is a perfect example of indian quality.

I must be real lucky I guess.
My point is, Dodge is an American company, so is the rest of the big 3.
If you can't find a vehicle to suit your purposes from one of them, then there is something wrong with you.
I don't care if your Magnum was made in Canada, it still was made by an American company and helped support American workers, if you can't see that, then you are blind.
I will buy an American product until there aren't any, and then I will fix it till its not fixable anymore and only then would I even consider buying anything foreign. I will support this country till death, I will not be a traitor and support the Edited to remove racial slurs per forum rules.

I wonder what the price point will be?
I'd be interested in trying one if it had sow tow capabillity, some load carry abillity and reasonable 4wd and off road capabillity it would make a great second truck for my machinery selling business. Keep the Dodge for heavy towing and hauling and have that as a second run around vehicle.
But it would have to be cheap to buy and cheap to run.

Sorry, I don't remember Toyota Bros. starting up a US company in the 1900s.
Toyota is foreign owned and the profits go back home to Japan with them.
That is not even a fair comparison by any means.
Toyota pays squat compared to any of the big 3. They were given donated land, and tons of government subsidies to open a plant here where they only assemble foreign made components. They don't actually make anything here.
If any of the big 3 were given the kind of tax incentives and subsidies from our government like foreign company's do, then it might be a fair comparison.
And you live in Michigan? Aren't you saddened by what your great state has become? I would expect someone from your area to be promoting American made autos not promoting Toyota's. Sad

I really think some of you guys need to look back and see what really is American and what is not.
Many of the American Companys may have started their roots in the US but they no longer are American.
The same goes for Canadian, most larger companies are owned by foreign investments and the money goes over seas and does not stay in our Countrys.
At the end of the day if a foreign company is going to build a plant, hire workers and pay them decent for what they do then why not support it.
The US and their industrial strength has degraded since the good days of the Industrial Revolution.
We all demand good cheap product and our greedy investors know that. so instead of being good and cheap, they provide us with a cheap and expensive product.
Products nowadays are not what the customer wants or needs. We get caught up with this bigger is better.
bigger is not always better.
I am willing to bet this Mahindra truck will out perform and out last any Domestic designed and built truck that we produce at the time it is launched with in it's catagory.
This company builds platforms to operate in Third World Countrys where there is not a parts store every other corner. Nor is there a fuel statino just around the corner. Therefore these units need to be reliable and durable.
I mean how many DODGE RAMS WITH a CUMMINS DIESEL do you see running around in Third world Countrys. Not many. There is a reason for it. (it is not because they cannot afford them)
