Looking for new or used Engine for a Mack!!!
I am looking for a new or used engine for an 2001 E-7 Mack. If anybody knows of someone who might have one or a good reputable place let me know. The last one I go in San Antonio I was told would work in my 02 and it came out of an 03. It did not work due to EPA changes in the trucks.
Thanks for y'all's help.

What is the model of the truck its in and if possible, can you get the model numbers off the engine? Should be a number-letter-number-number-number-number.
There were a lot of changes going on around that time with the introduction of the plate style oil cooler and as you have seen already, 03 emisions! Let me know something ASAP.

I will work on the model numbers. I do know that it has an ETech in it now. The vin, if it matters, from the truck is 1M1AA13Y21W144558. Also, just found out that the engine that was purchased was a VMac and will definitely not work.

If its the original engine thats in it I can look it up by VIN. I will get with you and let you know what I got. Now I will be honest, I am not promising you anything but I rebuilt two engines from around that year model and they are sitting in my wharehouse. They will come with a little warranty also.

Ok. I havent had time to go out there and check. Its a 355/380HP. Serial Number is 1D0698. You seem to have gotten a good one. Anything that Ryder owned was usually maintained very good. No major issues on all the warranty claims that were submitted. It had a few bumpers and some u-bolts replaced but that was the most major issue. Oh, and the Engine control module was replaced at 312,000 miles.
That 03 was most likely an AC ASET engine??? Variable Geometry Turbo?? That wont work with your truck unless you want to spend some major coin!!!!

I think yours does, but I need to know for sure, does it have a newer style plate style oil cooler and black cetrifugal oil filter on the drivers side of the engine? I dont know how familiar you are with the Macks. It should have a oil filter that fits under a black cover. If so, I think I do have a long block that will work great for you!!

You hit it on the spot on the truck . Everything you said matches and here is another bump; during the process of taking the motor out and trying to install the other one somehow they screwed up both computers . Anyways, if you have one that would be able to be installed in the truck lets work something out. I will pm you my number.
Thanks
Thanks
