Anybody know about GRANTS and or grant writers , I have a great opp. to buy out a friends small home based custom machining buis ?

Contact your local SBA office. To find one look here! The map is right on the first page! They have retired professionals that consult with new business owners for free.
There is another program too, but you have to look through all the available grants.... pain in the rear and most of them expire very early in the calendar year!
