I don't know how you stand all that excitement.
Evening everyone. Cleaned everything related to that little Ford 4000 tractor today; pistons, rods, oil pan, valve cover, crankshaft, oil galleys, water jacket and even the pushrods. Those pushrods had an honest 1/8" of flaky rust on them. Took about 10 minutes a piece at the wire wheel to get it off and they're still pitted. They seem straight tho so I'll re-use them. I need one connecting rod because I put a divet in the bearing surface beating it to death to get it out of the cylinder. The cylinder walls cleaned up nicely tho, I was surprised. The book says the bore is 4.40" and it mic's out to exactly that. The crank has some scratches on the surfaces where the rod bearings mount but I think they'll clean up with emery cloth. Can't feel them, only see them. We'll see I guess!
