Make no mistake, spraying a crowd is not hunting, stalking your prey for days is hunting. I have no experience in this, so I could not tell you any details.

I know a few guys here that do.

I would like to do it one day. For my Country, of course...

If you shoot the 50 that I shot, the round will kill a man if it passes with in 6-10 inches of his head.
I gotta call BS on that one.

Ok, that's fine. I'm no gunner...

I'll go dig up some hard evidence. Some stats, maybe a vid.

Ok, I'll take the egg on the face... What I've been taught, ya know. Like I said, I'm no gunner...

I'd like to test that theory, tho!

Being a former gunner with 3rd Battalion 1st Marines I spent alot of time shooting machine guns with weapons company, I cannot say that you would die from a 50 round passing 6-10 inches from your head but if you didnt you wouldnt be right ever again. The mere concussion(SP) shooting that weapon will make your teeth hurt. I guess none of us will never know thank goodness but Im betting if not dead you would stop shooting your weapon and start looking for a place to hide.
Again this is why I like my friend MK-19.

From what I've seen alot of people argue back and fourth over the whole .50 cal near miss thing... but no one is willing to try it.

Everyone uses bad assumptions that oh it doesnt hurt anything if it misses. Well, the shockwave and airpressure from it can certainly rupture blood vessels.

I can completely see a high velocity 50 cal going right past someones head and they drop dead from blood ruptures.

Search Utube for longest sniper shot. It was a shot of 2.4 klicks, with a 50. Man I was shocked the recipient went for one long and high bounce. I had no idea that there was that much power in a 50 at that distance.
There is more to the story actually of the fella that made the shot. I believe he was awarded the bronze star(correct me if I am wrong on that) by the US gov. He was a Canadian soldier in Afghanistan, the Canadian Gov wanted to do him for war crimes.(ya I used the same blue words) It was several years before he was able to accept the medal from the US. He left the military. I have to stop here before I use some of those blue words. But check out the shot unreal
