LED License Plates
Hey yall. Me and a buddy got to talking about this last night. Does anyone have or know anyone that has LED plates? I could've sworn I've seen them before. The thing I'm wondering, is how thats legal? Do you have to go to the DPS office to get your plate number programmed in there? If not it seems like it would be like writing your plate number down on a peice of cardboard and slapping it on your truck. I was just curious.

People don't own plates, the state does, you just pay to have the vehicle registered. Nothing on it is legal but the issued plate.

They may have put them on temporarily at a roadsisde show, etc. You may have seen them on the road, but it's their gamble.
