Red face Learning to handle smoke

Yesterday I got my first lesson in handling smoke... Empty going down the two lane past the high school at 3:00 PM. Crossing guard (a real cop) standing in the middle of the road, directing traffic, which usually means a five minute stop. We came down to about 10 mph, then he motioned us to go ahead. Never had serious smoke before so did things just like normal, dumped a gear and showered down on it. Trust me, Moody, Alabama police knows that I have smoke. My pipe goes straight back so he got a good dose of it. When the smoke cleared, he was standing there staring at the truck leaving. Must remember to be careful with the speeds through there for a while.

Yeah, blowing smoke is great fun for us.

But it's gonna catch up with us...

It's politically uncorrect to be polluting the air , and wasting (expensive) fuel.

There's already posts about Texas and Calif. mailing out excessive smoke citations.
Very soon, it'll be every state doing this, every time we smoke out a ricer or tailgater.

Smoke 'em if you got 'em....
cause it ain't gonna last for long.

Nevada is on that list as well.
Just had to get my truck smogged two weeks ago.
I just had a new injection pump and injector put in days before. Thus, everything was set to stock specs.
The truck passed easily.

It wont be long before the days of blowing smoke will be get even more expensive... through fines.

Rich.

I would not have done this for fun, the new engine has been in for a few days, never had smoke like this before, just did not think. On the wasted fuel thing, this engine is a good improvement in economy, but the particulate count is high at shift points...

Ahhhh, they don't do that anymore, they all go to St. Clair in Pell City. I helped get a couple put in there in the past. They just hold them in the Moody Motel til a deputy gets there.

Raced a Ford F-150 through Moody today, guess he thinks he beat me, at 55 I shut it down, probably thinks I missed a gear of something. Got to show him my smoke though

Shouldn't that be "prying them from my cold dead hands?"
