Got 97% done (as of 5PM yesterday!)
We still have 2 people left to buy for. Looks like we get to dodge the rest of the idiots too.

I'll be going out to Applejacks for some wine and make a stop at a couple of places for things that showed up at the last minuet, no problem

I think I'll go to Radio Shack. It will be crowded, but probably not like the big box or chain stores.

Just got back. wheeeew.

Stores opened at 0700, the mall was DESERTED.
Only a couple of dozen cars in the lot.
Stopped by Toyz-r-Us on the way back, not too many folks in there either.
I don't know if folks finished early, they're REALLY waiting for the last minute, or everyone is just getting tired of the year after year "Max-Out-The-Credit-Card" Christmas routine.

Finished most of it a month ago and the rest of it last weekend. Unusual year for me cause I'm usually done before Thanksgiving.

I did mine yesterday. Does just coming back from deployment the day before count as a valid excuse?

crobtex and pistol, thank you. We got delayed in starting our transit by a day due to weather. The ship I was on can only make turns for up to about 10kts through the water. Fortunately, we were able to ride a current most of the way back and were making 11.5kts over ground (woohoo, flank three baby!). We managed to pull in around dinner time rather than in the morning of the same day that we were scheduled for so it all worked out okay. I'm still used to doing 22-25kts on a transit home and if you get held up for weather, then do 27-30kts to make up time. Oh well, this is the easiest sea duty I think I'll ever get though.
