That dust is mold. Mold will make a horse colic. A coliced horse means I have to get up in the middle of the night and walk the stupid nag for hours on end. I'm SO glad we don't have horses anymore!

How 'bout some more pics Tim?

Morning all. It is Monday, September 2nd.

1666 - The Great Fire of London broke out. The fire burned for three days destroying 10,000 buildings including St. Paul's Cathedral. Only 6 people were killed. (notice the year!)

1775 - Hannah, the first American war vessel was commissioned by General George Washington.

1789 - The U.S. Treasury Department was established.

1864 - During the U.S. Civil War Union forces led by Gen. William T. Sherman occupied Atlanta following the retreat of the Confederates.

1901 - Theodore Roosevelt, then Vice President, said "Speak softly and carry a big stick" in a speech at the Minnesota State Fair.

1935 - A hurricane hit the Florida Keys killing 423 people.

1945 - Japan surrendered to the U.S. aboard the USS Missouri, ending World War II. The war ended six years and one day after it began.

1963 - The integration of Tuskegee High School was prevented by state troopers assigned by Alabama Gov. George Wallace. Wallace had the building surrounded by state troopers.

1985 - It was announced that the Titanic had been found on September 1 by a U.S. and French expedition 560 miles off Newfoundland. The luxury liner had been missing for 73 years.

1998 - 229 people were killed when a Swissair jetliner crashed into the Atlantic near Peggy's Cove, Nova Scotia. The pilot had reported smoke in the cockpit a few minutes before the crash.

Today's thought:
The male fox will mate for life and, if the female dies, he remains single for the rest of his life. However, if the male dies, the female will hook up with a new mate.

C0ffee & ph00 are ready for y0u!

That sure doesn't make any sense, you're talking about 2 different systems. Sounds like you've been turning allot of wrenches lately.

Afternoon all.

Yeah. This winter ice fishing I may try them out. Since I sort of like them I will make a little life vest for them.

I guess the 7.3 has a 1-quart reservoir for the high-pressure oil pump that feeds the HEUI system, that is supplied by the main oil pump. And what it doesn't use overflows onto the timing gears. That's what I was told, essentially, will happen if you don't get that little bit of old oil out of there at every oil change, by a couple guys on an old tractor website.

This is true in part. It does have a 1qt reservoir that supplies the HPOP. It is fed through a vane on the front of the engine directly from the engine lubricating oil pump. I have seen videos showing how to evacuate the oil from the HPOP reservoir, a waste of time in my opinion. That oil is constantly changing out or recirculating. Yes some is left there during a routine oil change. If metal debris wiped out injectors it was from the HPOP coming apart internally, and that does happen. Expensive repair. I have seen the 7.3 ford version and the Navitstar T444e version go well into the 400k mile range with minimal repairs. We had an 03 F350 7.3 with 370k on it and the only thin ever done to it was a set on injectors at 310k. Unfortunately it burned to the ground during the fire we had in the shop.

If you ever get jammed up on one of those message me, I know a thing or two bout them.

Well, I guess I'm makin' progress on the processor. Got the pump mounted, the operator cab roughed in, the valves mounted, the wedge backing plate mounted and the spikes attached to the infeed chain, amongst other various and sundry things.

I took that off one of our older trucks that we got rid of. The driver uses that side puller daily and loves it. I'm now trying to convince him to let me modify the hydraulics to make it operate completely independent so he can use the bed winch and the side puller winch at the same time.

Looks great Scott! Sorry for not getting back to you on the truck issue. Call me tomorrow, I'll be at the shop all day. No other pics of that side puller. I can snap one tomorrow of it on the truck and post it up.

Thanks Tim! Means a LOT coming from you! You build more stuff in a year than I have in a lifetime!

I'll give you a call tomorrow. Thanks!

Here's an email I received from a friend tonite. I think it sums things up pretty accurately!

The English are feeling the pinch in relation to recent events in Syria and have therefore raised their security level from "Miffed" to "Peeved." Soon, though, security levels may be raised yet again to "Irritated" or even "A Bit Cross." The English have not been "A Bit Cross" since the blitz in 1940 when tea supplies nearly ran out. Terrorists have been re-categorized from "Tiresome" to "A Bloody Nuisance." The last time the British issued a "Bloody Nuisance" warning level was in 1588, when threatened by the Spanish Armada.

The Scots have raised their threat level from "Ticked Off" to "Let's get the Turds." They don't have any other levels. This is the reason they have been used on the front line of the British army for the last 300 years.

The French government announced yesterday that it has raised its terror alert level from "Run" to "Hide." The only two higher levels in France are "Collaborate" and "Surrender." The rise was precipitated by a recent fire that destroyed France's white flag factory, effectively paralysing the country's military capability.

Italy has increased the alert level from "Shout Loudly and Excitedly" to "Elaborate Military Posturing." Two more levels remain: "Ineffective Combat Operations" and "Change Sides."

The Germans have increased their alert state from "Disdainful Arrogance" to "Dress in Uniform and Sing Marching Songs." They also have two higher levels: "Invade a Neighbour" and "Lose."

Belgians, on the other hand, are all on holiday as usual; the only threat they are worried about is NATO pulling out of Brussels.

The Spanish are all excited to see their new submarines ready to deploy. These beautifully designed subs have glass bottoms so the new Spanish navy can get a really good look at the old Spanish navy.

Australia, meanwhile, has raised its security level from "No worries" to "She'll be alright, Mate." Two more escalation levels remain: "Crikey! I think we'll need to cancel the barbie this weekend!" and "The barbie is cancelled." So far no situation has ever warranted use of the last final escalation level.

LoL! Some of that is hilarious.

Dang Scot, even with my limited fabricating skills I can tell that it is turning out great.
Did you make the plate that the drive shaft goes to and how does it attach to the flywheel? I can't see any bolts and no way to access the crankshaft-flywheel bolts.
Must have glued it.

The engine came out of a truck application with an automatic tranny, so I cut the torque converter in half along the circumference and machined a stub shaft to fit into the center hole of the converter. The converter then bolted to the flex plate and kept the stub shaft centered. I didn't have enough bell housing either, so I couldn't have put a plate across it to mount the pump on unless I found a deeper bell housing as well. I could've bought a PTO assembly, but the cheapest one I found was in the $2500 range and I didn't want to spend that on it. AND, with this set up, I can slide the shaft off the pump if I need to remove it for some reason. In short, it was just easier all around.

Morning all. In a weird mood this morning. Borderline depressed and anxious. Fall is always the worst time of the year as far as I'm concerned. Always hated it as a kid because it meant going back to school, which I couldn't stand. My mood is probably a hold-over from that.

Today is Tuesday, September 3rd. (Remember, TUESDAY, even tho it feels like a Monday!)

1783 - The Revolutionary War between the U.S. and Great Britain ended with the Treaty of Paris.

1833 - The first successful penny newspaper in the U.S., "The New York Sun," was launched by Benjamin H. Day.

1838 - Frederick Douglass boarded a train in Maryland on his way to freedom from being a slave.

1935 - Sir Malcolm Campbell became the first person to drive an automobile over 300 miles an hour. He reached 304.331 MPH on the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah.

1939 - British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain, in a radio broadcast, announced that Britain and France had declared war on Germany. Germany had invaded Poland on September 1.

1943 - Italy was invaded by the Allied forces during World War II.

1954 - "The Lone Ranger" was heard on radio for the final time after 2,956 episodes over a period of 21 years.

1966 - The television series "The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet" ended after 14 years.

1967 - The TV game show "What's My Line?" broadcast its final episode. The show aired over 17 years on CBS.

1967 - In Sweden, motorists stopped driving on the left side of the road and began driving on the right side.

1976 - The U.S. spacecraft Viking 2 landed on Mars. The unmanned spacecraft took the first close-up, color photos of the planet's surface.

1981 - David Brinkley left NBC News after 38 years to join with ABC.

1989 - The U.S. began shipping military aircraft and weapons, worth $65 million, to Columbia in its fight against drug lords.

1994 - Russia and China announced that they would no longer be targeting nuclear missiles or using force against each other.

Today's thought:
It is not fair to ask of others what you are not willing to do yourself.

C0ffee & ph00 are ready.

You are exactly correct - - it is working. She looks so much better today than one month ago and has most of her personality back. Now back to the nasty meds for two months. YUK. Quite an ordeal for everyone.

Off to knock off a few more To Do's and then pack up - - heading out for a month. Can't wait - - need it.
