snit - a state of aggravation or irritation ... so he is a bit cranky this week?
that hasn't slowed down any other typing...

No, but it kinda looks like one of Scott's baby pictures. Try turning it over, I think the head is on the wrong end.

Top of the morning to y'all, very early morning. The wife and I took the out of town visitors (niece and nephew) out to the Playcenter here tonight. I remember now why I didn't like the place from before, the staff are jerks. I'll spare the details for now but if it rains and they happened to get caught outside they would most probably drown! Buttheads! Anyway, about 1945 I see a message on the phone. One of the buses we use at church has a flat. The driver was transporting one of our regular Friday night groups and he had a RR tire go down. They made other transportation arrangements but the bus is near the church, the return run needs to be made in about 2 hours, the bus is leaving for TN. in the morning so the tire needs fixing quick. It ain't happening.

I was talking to our building maintenance guy about it on the phone as he arrived at the bus. This vehicle is a 96 Ford 26 passenger conversion on a 3500 van running gear, dual rear with an air tag axle. It's a crappy arrangement for sure. Anyway, both passenger side duals are flat. I got to the bus about 20 minutes later to find not only that but the driver's side duals are mismatched, old and nearly new tires, mounted together. Now the picture is getting clearer. The maintenance guy told me a local (small town) tire and general mechanic business changed the oil and rotated the rear tires about 2 weeks ago. I'm having a cow about now so in the morning I've got to load a compressor, tools and jack so I can fix this problem. I'll have to put 4 new tires on the drive axle and move one to the RR tag then they should be good, unless I find something else when I get the wheels off.

Hey Bob, I don't like your save the world fitness program!

If it's a small town business, the owner shouldn't be all that hard to find, especially with the law enforcement history you have. I'd be getting the idiot out of bed, dragging him to the bus and making HIM do the job like it should have been done in the first place. I'm all about responsibility and I have NO problem pointing out the error of idiots ways and making them correct them!

It's Saturday, July 16th. And yes Fronty, yesterday was a slow history day.

On this day in 1779 - American troops under General Anthony Wayne capture Stony Point, NY.

1790 - The District of Columbia, or Washington, DC, was established as the permanent seat of the United States Government.

1862 - Two Union soldiers and their servant ransacked a house and raped a slave in Sperryville, VA.

1862 - David G. Farragut became the first rear admiral in the U.S. Navy.

1935 - Oklahoma City became the first city in the U.S. to make use of parking meters.

1940 - Adolf Hitler ordered the preparations to begin on the invasion of England, known as Operation Sea Lion.

1942 - French police officers rounded up 13,000 Jews and held them in the Winter Velodrome. The round-up was part of an agreement between Pierre Laval and the *****. Germany had agreed to not deport French Jews if France arrested foreign Jews.

1944 - Soviet troops occupied Vilna, Lithuania, in their drive toward Germany.

1945 - The United States detonated the first atomic bomb in a test at Alamogordo, NM.

1957 - Marine Major John Glenn set a transcontinental speed record when he flew a jet from California to New York in 3 hours, 23 minutes and 8 seconds.

1969 - Apollo 11 blasted off from Cape Kennedy, FL, and began the first manned mission to land on the moon.

1981 - After 23 years with the name Datsun, executives of Nissan changed the name of their cars to Nissan.

1999 - The plane of John F. Kennedy Jr. crashed off the coast of Martha's Vineyard, MA. His wife, Carolyn Bessette Kennedy, and her sister, Lauren Bessette, were also on board the plane. The body of John Kennedy was found on July 21, 1999.

2004 - Martha Stewart was sentenced to five months in prison for lying about a stock sale. She was also ordered to spend five months confined to her home and fined $30,000. She was allowed to remain free pending her appeal.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
25% of the bones in your body are in your feet.

Coffee's on.

ya know, I was gonna ask if you had a free pass for that. I bought the license on line but declined the stamp cause i knew i was before season. wondered if your state had resident priviledges. we have disabled vets free.

Resident is cheaper than out of state and disabled resident vets are free. Over sixty is free so in a little over four years I get a free license. I am not sure if I should be happy or sad. Sure hated to put that king back. Guys upstream and downstream had king tags so guess who catches one. Me, the guy with no tag.
