OK, talked to him again at church yesterday. Here's the deal - there is not a product that he is aware of that will kill the johnson & crabgrass and not harm the san augustine. He said those grasses have some of the same characteristics that the treatment would pin-point and thus it would kill the san augustine too. He said to use the Cimarron on the areas where there is no san augistine and it would for sure kill the junk and prosper the bermuda. He personally uses this on all our hay pastures to kill bahia and johnson grass.
He did say on the san augustine there was some stuff called Bonus S from Scotts that is suppose to inhibit weed growth in san augustine, but he was not sure other than he had read an article about it and was skepital at best that it would kill johnson grass.
Sorry I was not more help. I know the MSMA or whatever its called works best at my house, but again no San Augustine there.

MSMA is only stuff I've found to kill Johnson grass.... but works only with Bermuda. It's actually a over stimulant .......for anything but Bermuda.
If you have a small area...could apply MSMA carefully by hand and do minimal damage to St Augustine....especially if you mixed it a little weak.
Normal is 2 oz in 2.5 gallons of H2O. Go 2 oz to 3 gal H2O and treat mid day for 2-3 days in a row. Might work.
