Jiffy Lube !?!?!
So I found out the hard way that I won't be going back to Jiffy Lube to ever have anything done today. I took my wifes car to have the oil changed becuase its so low to the groundI don't like to fight with it. Nothing special just a Mazda 3 4 banger. Just oil and filter ran me 42 bucks! What happened to 24.99 filter and oil changes ?

Ive seen local shops do it for $15-$25. There is alot of overhead to cover for only changing oil. Local shops use oil changes to fill free time for their trainees, they make real money elsewhere which covers the overhead.
I actually picked up 4 oil changes for my gf for $30 bucks last year. It was a prepaid deal but well worth it. It was through a local repair chain.

Not a big fan of Jiffy Lube myself - a few years ago I took my beater 88 Chev 1/2 ton for an oil change - 20 minutes later they came back and told me front and rear differential service was due (something like an extra $160). My response: "Do you mind showing me the front differential on my 2W drive pickup?"
Haven't been back since.
