I saw that thing a couple of weeks back. I can't believe what some people with too much time and money can do. I particularly liked the statement about lighting off the afterburner with the spectator in the background...Quick fried to a crackly crunch...LOLOL. I guess that it would work to clear traffic on the rush hour journeys (if you were backing up in full afterburner).....

Here is another link to this car.

It dies quick because it runs out of bandwidth but it's usually there the first few days of the month.

Speaking of which, about 10 years ago I was at a drag srtip and they ran one of those Jet cars as like the main event. It was pretty crazy. When it went past it heated the grand stand area up to like 110 degrees for a few seconds. Pretty cool.

I was at the track a couple years ago during their "Night of Fire" jet car event.

Chose just the right time to visit the beer tent, which just happened to be at starting line side of the track,
no problem during regular drag's, but when the jet cars were testing their afterburners, all the smoke, unburnt fuel and massive heat wave wafted right over the tent.

I think they relocated it after that.

Cool project.

"We get this a lot. A police officer picking at his nose while trying to figure out what to charge me with. Notice the hopeful anticipation of us on the right. We're rooting for him and offer suggestions but unfortunately, the California Department of Motor Vehicles did not anticipate such a vehicle so he's out of luck. Hmmm, the car has two engines making the car a hybrid so maybe we can drive in the commuter lanes along with the Toyota Priuses"
