Anyone know what Jet fuel will do to a gasoline engine ? Damage wise, that is ?

I thought jet fuel was basically kerosene..........

Yeah, I read that after I posted the question. It's just a "higher grade" version with less lubrication capability, from what I read. Diesels run fine on it, but gasoline vehicles won't run.

We stole some JP4 when I was a kid and tried to run it in my 65 Plymouth. Made the car run like poop-if at all.
After we drained it and got gas back in it there was no damage.

Dont know what it would do to new cars with cat-converters, computers and fuel injection.

AV-gas and jet fuel are two different things, although jet fuel sounds like it should be more powerful (it is in the right engine).

I used to mix 5 gallons of purple av-gas with a full tank of Super in my 69 GTO, we figured it gave around 108-110 octane and boy did she run good on it.

Straight purple av-gas would have burnt it up....

JP-4 wouldn't have even fired in it..not enough spark to ignite it.
