afternoon all. warm day here in Mychicken (Michigian), little cloudy and breezy.

had some homade waffles, from Bisquick. went to church with my parents.

fiddled around with my truck, found a broken vac. line that was causing the hvac doors in the truck to act up. fixed that, now it works fine.

took my friend for his first ride in it, he loves it. still getting used to driving a truck with a turbo. accidentally shut it down like a gasser, twice.

other than that not much goin here cept looking for another job.

Yo, DS. Sorry to hear about your job. Good luck. Wanna be a Marine? I can hook you up good...

Went to church, went to a buddies house and taught him how to change oil. Now, I'm not bashing him, because no one ever showed him how to do it, but that's sad. His dad must have sucked or something. Came home, helped the wife clean the house, cracked open a bud and jumped on here for a few, now I'm about to go clean out the trucks. See ya'll in a bit...

Josh, we need pictures...

Hi gang,

Looks like nothing much has changed since my last time around the cooler - - still no foo foo, place is a mess, and no food. Wow.

We are sitting in the fiver with the big recliners turned around looking out the big back picture window sitting on the beach on the Sea of Cortez just outside LaPaz, Baja California, Mexico. Weather is perfect, warm sun, cool breeze, water just perfect and just the right color, yachts anchored just offshore sending out their "toys" and us sitting in our recliners getting a sun burn. Guess I might stay another year or two. We will be hitting several of the hot spots around the Baja before heading for the border. The five day ride on the train was quite amazing - - we sat in our recliners on the flat bed for much of the trip - - five days winding our way thru the canyon. I will post pics when I can get more Inet time.

Take care,

BajaBob

Pistol Hope your retirement is all you thought it would be and more.

Sun is shinning here should be a good start to a week full of fun, ok maybe not fun.

Madhat, I thought you were a DI not a recruiter, maybe you should change vocations. Or ask for another raise. can you do that?

Nice pup 04, bring on the heavy duty garbage bags and the scoop shovels for the poop patrol.Oh and don't forget the lawn seed to reseed the lawn every year. Astro turf, hey I think I have an idea??? No more gutting grass every week. Hose it down to clean it. No grass stains on the kids cloths.

Ok, got the exhaust done on the skidsteer. That was an exercise in frustration, prostration, contemplation, inflamation, and the occasional levitation.
That, combined with liberal and somewhat colourful uses of the english language. ( no, not swearing, more fun to come up with other things ) Got the job done. Will throw some pics in the gallery shortly.

As far as turning 40 and gaining 40 lbs. It might have worked that way for you, but I missed the boat. I turned 40 and my butt disappeared.

I found your butt, Pind. Claim it quickly...

beautiful day here, 57 degrees and cleaned everything in sight outdoors; did a little metal detecting at an old trail on prison grounds (settlers there were from 1760) and had a woodchuck stand his ground and bite at my steel toed boot. Siberian wanted to "play", 60 pounds of muscle can sure give you a good workout. we backed off and the woodchuck CLIMBED A TREE! never saw that before. continued on the trail and I found some tin/lead toy indians,
old marbles without even digging.
home to clean up the barn a bit, decided to fire up the old police bike. dang, it fired right up! I laughed with glee and drove it up a hill and over the drive way when it slammed still and cut out. someone forgot to tell the brakes to release...never dropped it though...love working on Harleys- two bolts and the brakes come off.
fired up the grill for a venison steak with mushrooms and onions; read my mail from last week and found an offer from the government to be a paid mentor to some fire departments a few times a year. The Lord really does take care of those who work hard and make the right decisions... keep the faith out there guys...

Thanks Davey for starting the thread; all glasses held up for Pistol and those that follow! Salutd'

sunburnedbajabob, thanks for the update. Enjoy yourself. Will have the foo-foo in the pink pot for your return

Wannabe, that mentor to the firedepartments sounds like an nice gig. Give you time to relax and be semi retired. Spring is there, and your out having fun, got the grille fired up, yum.
It was a honor to be able to start this thread.

Diesel Storm, losing a job can be tough, but when one door closes, another one opens up. Good luck

MadHat, you are a good example of what a Marine is. Being proud of what you do will make others want to be Marines. Keep up the good work.

Maybe he could e-mail them to me...

Thanks!!! I try hard. And, that's a point for you!!

Had wierd dreams last night. Guess I should not eat subway right before bed, or something. Getting short here on quota. Almost time to go back. I'm counting the minutes until my freedom is gone.

BTW, those tow hook extenders I got... Ya know when you walk around the back of your truck in the dark, and you have not had your hitch on in a while, and forgot that you put it back in, and you bash your self in the knee?
Tow hooks...

Coffee- $1.10
Donut- $1.00
Comeing to work and finding out your job is still safe this week... priceless...well almost..

Didn't get a lot done this weekend. Was gonna gut the house and do some staining, but sunny weekend they promised didn't pan-out.

Wonder how the whiskers off the janitor's little pets would do on a #12 elk-hair caddis? They're gonna find out if they don't keep away from my fritter.
