thanks for all the stories of J-B Weld applications, .... tool, I actually bought a tube but got it unwrapped and found it WAY too small. I've heard doing this in a tubeless tire caused overheating, but never seen it. Piles, I've much more confident of my repair now as my application inside the rim seems much less severe than your cracked wheel. I'll keep watching this thread as it's been fun. The spun bearing repair in a bike engine case was a major cost saving, and I miss my old GL1100 too! My son is running it and I take it for a spin about once a year, a bit like putting on a comfortable old shoe. I ran it in "rat-bike" fashion but he's slicked it up a bunch and ohhh does it feel good to settle into that seat.
