Tested at the Bandwithplace.com.

Sprint BBD was faster download but upload was slower than dialup.

Cable isn't quite out here yet, so I had to settle for DSL.

When go to the link i posted go to the left to the more tests and select the shuttle and as the host select the toast.net.It gives sa little better test .

not a fluke, this outa NY server:

I have found out the hard way, do it again right this time, that the cheap splitters are exactly that, cheap. If you are running cable you should get the best splitter you can find, one half goes as short apossible with good cable directly to the cable modem. The second split feeds the rest of the house, again for best results for reception good splitters and cable to the sets. If you have poor tv quality you may be able to find a signal amplifier at home depot to push that signal along. The one I got is a 25dba signal amplifier. Do not place this type of unit before your cable modem!!! It is to be installed on the split that feeds the hous tv's, again, not the modem!!! This unit cleared a problem I had and is amazing the difference it makes. Hope you all find this helpfull.

This is running 3 computers and 1 XBOX through 1 wireless network router. This computer is hooked directly to the router. Don't know if that makes any difference.

I don't think it's too accurate...

Seriously though, I was testing out at about 8mbit/s when using Mozilla Firefox. I bought into all the big-time hype surrounding this browser and was throughly impressed with it's tabbed browsing and supposed security features, but it was just too slow and didn't work properly on several sites I frequent.

Using good anti-virus and firewall programs, I've had no issues at all with Avant, which uses the base IE program, but adds tabbed browsing!
