It is simple.

Two rules.

First rule. Be honest.

Second rule......we'll get to that when the first rule is followed.

The movie has been debated on every right wing and left wing TV and radio show for a week. If you pay attention, you probably see most of the movie for free.

Don't read it if you are a fanatical supporter of the Bush government. I don't intend to start a flame war here, I do just think that it summarizes some of the concerns the European media have with the US quite neatly.

Just so we know who we are talking about. The Free Press is published in Ohio by someone running for the school board there and is a professor. Here is another one of his articles.... Anyone reading this trash is much more of a moron than Bush.

Fourth Reich?
The Bush-Rove-Schwarzenegger **** Nexus
By BOB FITRAKIS and HARVEY WASSERMAN

George W. Bush's grandfather helped finance the **** Party. Karl Rove's grandfather allegedly helped run the **** Party, and helped build the Birkenau Death Camp. Arnold Schwarzenegger's Austrian father volunteered for the infamous **** SA and became a ranking officer.

Together, they have destabilized California and are on the brink of bringing it a new Reich.

Fourth Reich? Now that's funny!

California was destablized way before Arno and GW.

Hauling.
Thanks for pointing out who Fitrakis is and what he wrote. You do sencond my point, didn't think that you would. (Before you explode now re-read what I wrote)
By the way, thanks for calling me a moron.

Jack : We do read about Mr Burg et. al getting beheaded or slain in other ways in Iraq- the tendency in our media is to attribute it to being there as an american is quite risky. (And at least throwing in bits like "suspected mercenary")
Oil for food program- better oil for the benefit of the rich program. Anyways, I did never read that proof for the WMDs was found- could you send me a link?
Girls in school- first time since the Taliban in Afghanistan yes, not true for Iraq.(Had female classmates from Iraq in the 80s- there was even an academic exchange programme with Austria especially for women) Food, water etc- can't say whether the situation got better or worse, there are contradictory reports.

FiverBob: You don't seem to read very well- or do you think that your posting is in any way correlated to my complaint about what I read in our media ??? Just 2 posts before your post I wrote:
kandgo: If you read my posts again you'll see what they were intended for: And I'll write it again.
To show what the average European citizen reads about Bush and Iraq.
I don't think there's an agenda behind my posts- except maybe that I'd like to show some US citizens what kind of "information" we get over here and maybe also show why the majorities over here think the way they think.

cumminnotstrokn: I did not in any way judge Bush or his advisors. Where in my post do you find anything where I judge him?

Lary and t7, I won't have to comment about spiderman, cinderella etc. They are quite on topic compared to the posts of some other people

Right, suspected mercenary. Gee, your news isn't slanted in any way, is it?

Oil for food program- better oil for the benefit of the rich program.
At least you have one thing right. Saddam took the money from the oil for food program, and put it right in his pocket. It's very possible that more than a few high up in the UN pocketed a good amount of money as well, while Saddam continued to rape and torture his own people. I guess to you Europeans, that's OK.

Anyways, I did never read that proof for the WMDs was found- could you send me a link?
Here is one article I read back in May. I saved it just for people like you who would ask for the link. There are others, but it's NOT a very popular story. I mean, it's too close to the election, God forbid the media here would want Bush to WIN.

Forgive me if you thought I was takling about Iraq. I thought I was clear about Afghanistan. No, you see in Iraq, many girls might have been in school, but there are also hundreds of little girls, along with other people, buried in Iraq who have been tortured by the Saddam government. All of them in unmarked, mass graves. You don't find that in many places, but you do in Iraq. I guess in Europe this is ok.

Jack:
About the girls in school you wrote:
You don't hear the fact about girls in Iraq and Afghanistan being able to go to shool for the first time.

Right, suspected mercenary. Gee, your news isn't slanted in any way, is it?
Hmm, aint it exactly that what I'm trying to show ? News being slanted?
I do think that your comment of people in unmarked mass graves in Europe being ok is very inappropriate. I do really detest this notion. Sorry if you think like that about me. But you are wrong about it.

About the link on WMDs : Please post the link. (or the story)

Again, to make it clear(er) if possible: I wrote this to show what we do read about the US over here.

T-7 Firefighter, In World War 2 Germany didn't attack us Japan did. Do you think we should have just left the Germans alone

People should read their history books before making statements like that.

this is what you get if you post something the right wing doesn't like.

Tired of your attitude
You make it a point to post as often as you can in a manner that is not in the interest of discussion, but rather as combative in nature.

Frankly we don't need that here. Being a Vietnam vet does not give you the right to be a pain in the behind when you feel like it.

If you can't post in a constructive manner, than frankly I prefer you don't post at all. I don't care a bit about your political interests, only that your posts are 3/4 negative in nature.

Great post Lary Ellis!

Couldn't have made the point any better, or probably as well for that matter.

Bush has enough common sense and courage to protect his own borders.

That means he won't cede any U.S. authority to the Europeans and the corrupt UN.

That's all I care about.

I don't care if he's a bad speaker.

Those kinds of priorities are what got us into trouble in the first place IMO.

GO BUSH!

Herb, since you want to keep this public, I will too. This is your last warning. One more and I will ban you permanently. That way, you and your boy Joel can play in the other playground

If you want to stay a member here, then you need to follow the rules just like everyone else does here. You don't have any kind of special privilige on the site.
