Cool article, Jack. I got tired of the laptop and GPS in the front seat with me - - too much stuff. I just go online, route out my travels, print it and carry the map. I am also worried about someone busting a window out and making the truck a little lighter when they see it all in there.

Now, tell me how to connect with the web in Canada without paying the stupid price of roaming they charge up there. I'm on Verizon.

We can't even get DPS or Cable Modem in our area yet. And my cell phone is so old it has a dial instead of a key pad. I feel technologically challenged.

Congrats on the article (you should still get the 58" TV). I am a techno geek when it come to software (and hardware when it no longer can support the software I want).

Jack, Thee Doll House?

What is a happily married man like yourself doing in a place like that - I know - you were shanghaied by a band of roving diesel truck owners and dragged along in protest. But you were able to free yourself from your bonds and fight your way out just in time to answer your loving wife's call.

At least that is the version I might have to try and float one day

My wife, being trained in the medical field, told me that if I ever go to one of those establishments that I would have to be decontaminated before I came in the house and that there would be an unspecified quarantine for an unspecifed length of time on certain unspecified activities

Do you have your wireless lan properly encrypted? One of the wireless gurus here (consultant on the side) was playing with an antenna in his neighborhood the other day and found 17 open wireless lans from his back deck. He says he can drive around with his laptop booted and catch open lans just about everywhere. If people are going to play with technogeek stuff they should at least learn how to protect their own info.
