Santana, Clapton, Pat Methany...there are others I just can't think of.

If you can, listen to a song by Santana called "Song of the wind".

It's on the Caravanserai album/CD. Really shows what the guy is capable of.

Carl Perkins is awesome too.

There's a DVD of him doing a concert in Great Briton back in the '80's with Clapton, George Harrison, Ringo Starr, Roseanne Cash, and some other big names. This is great entertainment. I saw it on a PBS telethon being offered as a "giveaway" with a donation of $80.00 or more. They played it and it was so good I bought it off Amazon for much less.

It's interesting because it shows how much todays mega stars like the Beatles, Clapton, etc., worshipped the guy when they were coming up.

The guy is great.

Here it is on Amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...s=dvd&v=glance

I don't buy many DVD's, maybe two in my life but that one is worth every penny IMO.

DT.

Another vote for Jimmy! He has a way better wardrobe than any of those other twangers as well...

Did you ever see Live Aid?

If not, do yourself a favor and make sure that you don't... Watching that was the saddest thing I ever did...

Yep, Cooder done some great slide and country licks.
Good movie, I look at it 3 or 4 times a year. Ya know Vai done Macchio's gig near the end of the "head cuttin' ". The haunting bar room piano licks kinda did it for me too.
Anybody interested in that voodoo charm stuff?

I don't know if you can wear out a DVD but I am doing my best to do so. If you are a Pink Floyd fan then it is a must have.

So.....Who is your favorite Guitarist?

Britt

T-7,
Ever check out the Austrailian Pink Floyd show, a tribute band?

I can't believe I forgot Tyler Coe and Joe Finn, apart for being very talanted, they have no set list or clue what David is gonna do during the show, but you would never know that from just watching the show... They never miss a beat or note.

How about Joe Walsh. And Zappa was a genius on the guitar.

If you want to treat yourself to a few hours of top-notch guitar players, pick up Clapton's Crossroads Guitar Festival DVD. The likes of Robert Lockwood, Robert Cray, Jimmie Vaughan, Buddy Guy, BB, JJ Cale, Joe Walsh, Johnny Lang, John Mayer, Steve Vai, James Taylor, Santana .............. the list goes on and on. Two DVD's and a DTS track to boot.
