Remember that the skins will be wrong side out. They get inverted when a snake peels them.

It's probably just a rat snake in search of a meal. Definitely a sign of a rodent population in there somewhere

I'm not sure I can really ever remember seeing a copperhead more than 3.5 feet long, usually copperheads get super fat, not long.

I think you'll find that the reason the skin was inside wasn't due to the location of the mice as much as it was mother nature talking to the snake. One to two weeks before most snakes shed their skin the covering on their eyes starts to become opaque, causing them to be blind until they shed. Good point. I've been searching for signs of rodents....found nothing, no turds, no torn up insulation seats etc.? I'm sure they are around though.
You make a good point also. I've never seen one 9ft long either.

They never last long enough to eat the peanut butter. Its amazing how the peanut butter hides the scent of blood. They just keep coming.
