I learned something today.

I learned a very important fact today. No matter how much you try and help someone out, they can always stab you in the back. It may only be one day after my 21st bday, but I still think I learned a very important lesson. In all seriousness, I try and help everyone out the same, whether I just met them, or have been long time friends. I don't care who you are, everyone need help or appriciation every once in a while or at some point. Well, I have put alot of R&D into a new product (and I'm not going to say what it is) but a buddy asked me a while back about it and I have sorta "short" contacts but he went through another guy and got the same thing I was working on. I mean I know its a business, but it ticked me off he went to my competitior after I gave him such a break neck price on the new product and worked so hard to make it custom for his truck alone and then goes out and get a "knock off" cause essentially that's what it is. I dunno, maybe I got alot to learn yet but I know on thing, being true to peope who are true with you will only help you in the long run. As I said, I help everyone equaly whether its their first or 1000 phone call to me cause we all need help at some point, but for him to go behind my back after breaking my back, I just hope he fails in the long run. I had countless time and effort into it and then he just says no and goes with a knock off... I say if you are true to those who are true to you, everything will work as planned. I know this is all kinda out there and stuff but I jsut feel if you are truthful and honest to your friends and customers the same should be shown back to you, but again I'm new at this business and have alot to learn yet. Anyways, enough with my rambing and venting, its just part of business I guess.....

Yeah, I'm stupid a lot, too. I've lost a lot of money and tools by being a nice guy. I still get taken, so I guess I'll never learn.

Welcome to real life! People will hurt you and stab you in the back all your life, but do not let it get you down I challenge you to live by Kent Keith's Paradoxical Commandments:

- You will find that people are unreasonable, illogical and self centered, yet you love them anyway!

- If you do good, you will be accused of selfish motives. Do good anyway!

- Success will win you false friends and true enemies. Succeed anyway!

- The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway!

- The biggest people with the biggest idea can be shot down by mental midgets with the smallest ideas. Think big anyway!

- What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight. Build anyway!

- People need help but may attack you for offering your hand. Help them anyway!

- Giving the world the best you have may get you kicked in the teeth. Give your best anyway!

Be persistent! Never ..... never ..... never give up! it's too soon to quit!

One of the guys you have been dealing with has been banned from here because he is a liar and a thief. I wondered just how long it would take for him to get you too.

My good friend Lars once told me that I have too high expectations for people and take it too hard when they don't meet them. He told me to lower my expectaions of humans, then, when they exceed them I will be happily surprised rather than sadly frustrated. It works and has led me to a more joyful existence. Let it be water under the bridge my friend. I am constantly shopped for bids and usually lose out to a lower bidder. If I got all the jobs I've bid I could have retired years ago. I love the one's who know darn well they can't afford my services but want a price anyway and pretend like I have a chance of gettin the job knowing full well they'd never hire me. Stay the course and use that joker as the model of human you never want to be or become! Kurt

Yea, I had about 4 drinks when I wrote that and was a little scared to see the spelling in the morning cause I didn't stop drinking after i wrote it LOL. I'm actually still really upset because I'm finding more and more out. I dunno, I try adn treat everyone how I would be treated. Its prolly my own little dream world in a way but I just feel if you do good, it will come back around to ya. Like I said, I know its business, I just didn't expect a someone close to me would do that. Oh well, I just got to move forward. I just picked up a new truck anyways so I prolly shouldn't be complaining as nice as it is but I had to vent.

Yeah same thing has happened to me, the thing I love is when you wake up at midnight and go pull someone out of a ditch 30 miles away and when you get stuck 10 minutes from their house they are too "busy"... lol

I have been burned many times by people who i thought were my friends... and I usually don't give a second chance.

I have lent money , and bought things in good faith many times with the premise of being paid back , and many times it takes months to get paid back for something that should have only taken a few days , There are two people who owe me money from a year and a half ago... and one of them reads this forum occasionally...

I think it's pretty sad when someone has to wonder who their real friends are... I find it interesting that the person who was my worst enemy all through high school , is probably my best friend right now , I know if i called him and said i was broken down on the side of the highway 3 hours from home ,that he would do everything he could to help me , including making the drive to where i was with whatever i needed. Some people grow up , and change , for the better, but some people just never change.

Has anyone here heard the song " ya find out who your friends are"? I can't remember who sings it , but there is alot of truth to it.

I think it is usually worth it to have wrong done to you once , just to find out what a persons true colours are, because once you know , you won't let it happen again.

Well, remember, you get what you sow, more then you sow and latter then you sow! Just keep sowing the right seeds and leave the "weeds" alone!

I probably dont remember it correctly , but isnt there an old saying about loaning a friend $20 and if he pays it back you have a friend, and if you never see him again, it was probably worth the $20 to find out.....
