I hope you guys had a better day than I did yesterday
I was working on a old dragline and after I got her running I needed to load her up on the RGN. Well I move my pickup about 100 ft away downhill from where I was. As I was moving that thing the boom kept moving on me whenever I would try to get tracks to spin left or right. I got myself kinda of crooked and I spun the boom around to get straight again. There was an old round cage within reach of that boom and sure enough I couldn't stop the swing in time. The boom hit the cage which made it roll downhill into driver's side doors on my truck. Talk about feeling helpless as you see something heading toward your truck and knowing there isn't anything you can do about it. Maybe today will be better, I still have to get that thing loaded.

Ya that sucks bro, I was comin in to work today and some gal in a Mazda 6 slide off the road and hit a fire hidrant well after awhile all the ground sidewalk etc... caved in and when I saw it you could only see the top of the car bobbing up and down from the water pressure in this big sinkhole hole.

when i first started running a trac hoe for the neighbor we went to an equipment auction preview and the half dozen different hoes that i had ran had the hydrolic saftey lockout made as a arm that goes accross the door opening . well this one at the auction had a toggle switch. anyway i jump up in the cab fire it up and check the old girl out and after running it got up to get out. forgot to switch toggle, carhart caught the left handle when i stood up and hoe started swinging left and the bucket hits a big old boiler that was set next to it and boom it knocks the boiler over. luckey no one was hurt except my pride. long walk to auction trailer told them of what happen to boiler . guy says thats why the auction yard isn't responsible for equipment once left in there yard and have a nice day.

sorry to hear that, things like that are always tough to swallow. when i was logging my buddy left his lab in his toyota p/u. he forgot to set the parking brake, the dog hit the gear shifter in to neautral and we watched the truck carene down the hill into a tree. luckily the pup was ok, but the toyota had a lot of front end damage.

Don't feel to bad, I had one heck of a day yesterday.
Lets see, where do I start here. First off I had a plow put on my Grizzly yesterday at the Yamaha dealer. As I picked up my quad I bought a set of aluminium ramps costing me $160. I unloaded it and as im halfway down the ramp one of the welds on the hinge brakes, what ever no big deal. Take them back and get a new set. Well im home now plowing and my winch breaks, im starting to get heated now. As im loading up the quad to take it back in, my second set of ramps break as im loading her up, mind you im half way up the ramp on a lifted truck. Here is the time where I could of had a heart attack at the age of 19. As im halfway in my bed the ramps break apart and I roll my machine off of the side of my truck. My bumper on the quad caught the corner of the bed, which ripped a big ol chunk of metal off and tearing the tail gate at the same time. I rolled the quad back over and finally loaded it.
At this point in time i've done said every choice word there is to say. I threw those ramps across my yard and stormed off to the Yamaha dealer in a rage of furry.
Oh, and the straw that broke the camels back was a flat tire that suddenly poped out of no where.
Thanks god they took care of me in a timely manner and my warranty still covered the winch and all the parts that were mangled inside. Today is going much better, it's pay day. And you know the old saying. "The load is always easier on pay day boys".

had destroyed the bumper on my 04 with this homemade trailer my dad gave me, kinked bumper on each corner about 3 times, in different places, due weight or different hitch.
so i bough the 06, and guess what? first week - put a big DING in the bumper..
it's just a truck. relax. relax....then yell at the dog!

on the ramps, get yourself a pair of 2"x10"x12' rough cut oak. Attach a set of the heavy duty ramp ends and you will never have a problem again. They will hold 1500 lbs easy and the 12' length decreases the angle. If it makes you feel better you can stand a cement building block up under each plank as your loading. you can get hurt bad when a ramp snaps half way up.

Guy I worked with was taking a WA State ferry boat to a job. He was first in line for the next boat. Rememberd he did not get a reciept for the toll. Jumped out of his car, ran back to the toll booth, got the reciept, turned and look and the car was gone.
He forgot to set the brake, it was in neutral. He spotted the car under water at the end of the dock.
It was really his wifes car, so he also had to tell her. Not a good day.
One of the many "Chi" stories.

welcome to the forum.
i hate towing, go thru a million possibilities in my mind.
life's still good.
old timer next door, fence post rotted out, i got home in time & in the right mood to help him, we had a good time busted the concrete off the old post,
he's ~70, 6-3 or so, he could still work a sledge.
hope i can do that when i am 70!

Yeah, I hear you about the ramps. A buddy of mine loaded his ATV into the back of his Chevy truck and the tailgate cables snapped, sending him, the ATV and the tailgate crashing down. Luckly he came out ok, so did the ATV, but the tailgate was trashed.
I figured $800 for a 6.5' x 14' single axle trailer with air gate is a lot cheaper than a new tailgate, and safer.
