I FOUND MY TRUCK!!!

Well people Cattle Hauler took me to look at trucks today and I found one that I liked. Its the same color as Darrell B's truck (intense blue), of course it is an automatic because I can't seem to learn how to downshift! '98 12v,Fully loaded, 4x4, fold down gooseneck ball setup, ranch hand replacement front bumper with pushbar, black diamond plate bed caps with 80,000 miles for $17,900. CH forgot his camera or I'd send a pic. I will send one next time we go up there.
One thing wrong.......the fuel sending unit is out. The dealer told me that they go out on ALL dodge trucks. Is this easy to fix? Expensive? Looks like I will have to live with blue instead of purple.

Re:I FOUND MY TRUCK!!!

Congrats on the new ride. ;D
Fuel sending units shouldn't be too hard to change.
Are you gettin' any kind of warranty?
Check www.kbb.com or www.edmunds.com to see comparable prices for the vehicle.

Congratulations Jade1_78! Sounds like a nice rig. The fuel sending unit-I assume that you are refering to the fuel gauge sending unit- I have heard of a few of those going bad. Intense blue is a pretty color. And as you mentioned on another post, you can always paint it!

DeWain

Intense blue!!! Great color. I would have got that color but it wasn't available for 2001's. :'( Can't you make the fuel sending unit repair part of the sale or is it a private party?

Now, it's time to start working on the ol' man for some bombs. Turnabout's fair play. ;D ;D

~Dave

Re:I FOUND MY TRUCK!!!

congrats on the truck. The sending unit should be around 50 bucks if its the the whole thing its about 300 something its not that hard to replace took about an huor to fix on my 95 and i need to do it on my 98. They say they get damaged by the fuel pumps at truck stops that dump a lot of fuel at a fast rate

But there is quite a bit of work to fix it. If you can live with it, just use the mileage to know when to fill up. It's cheaper and easier.

I saw him do a little work the other day.

One thing is for sure. He will never get a job as tire changer for a NASCAR team. They dont like two day tire jobs.

Re:I FOUND MY TRUCK!!!

Hey man that is for me too. We cant change tires fast enough. Lets try not to practice either. Check my pm on the warranty. Could be useful for tranny warranty. :
