Wink From tennessee to New york barns

don't know what works in the wide open ways if texas BUT

if there are seasons (cold, warm , hot, rain) look for bats at twilight..

where there are bats there are no bees. true in any habited forest area or barnyard. set up vertical bat boxes facing SouthEast, about ten feet or higher off the ground away from driveways, activity areas during the day.

John Deere 420 crawler that smoked, best defense for forest yellow jackets.

worst ground hive? white faced hornets- absolutely vicious. unfortunately it was my then seven year old son that got it. man, did I feel bad...

What kind of bats are the best to attract? I do have a few bats around the area, but I don't know what kind they are, I only see them right at dusk (before it gets too dark to see them) and I can tell they are bats because they fly like they have been sippin' too much whiskey.

It seems a little odd that they would take care of the wasps or hornets because bats are active at night and the hornets and wasps that live around here hole up and become pretty inactive from dusk till dawn.

Or do the bats seek out the nests and raid it when they are all gathered up? Please give more information on bats if possible. Vertical bat boxes? any examples?

If you'll Google bat boxes there's a huge amount of info, ready to go or build it yourself.

I got a few old bats in my town I'd like to get rid of.
OOPS, you mean the flying kind.
Bats are cool to have around and snakes keep the rodents away.

Dieseldude,
What kind of snake is that? Looks like he got his head run over by a truck.

We have a TONS of bats in the central Texas area but I don't think they're in the habit of eating wasps and bees. They most eat smaller flying insects like mosquitoes.
