I dont know the whole story but,......

This town is next door to mine. Same County. I cant count the number of times I have found myself not signaling.

Seems harsh to me on its face. I hope we hear more about what really happened.

Sounds like the kid beaked off to the cop and the cop over-exercised his authority to set him straight

The side of the road......

Is not the place to argue your case. In the town I worked in there was a rather pricey college with a well known law school. Many times the students found themselves on the side of the road with myself or others I worked with. It usually went something like "Officer you don't understand the law and you can't do this. My Professor said that....... Have your Professor explain the difference between the letter of the law and application based on case history........ Sign here, have a good night."

Respect the law, respect the officer... he risks his life on a daily basis.

Courtesy on the road is not acting like you alone own it. Let others know your intentions at all times. Motor vehicles are death on four wheels. People today don't seem to realize the difference between everybody paying attention and letting others know what each is doing and a long day at the funeral home.

I don't condone a police officer abusing his powers but like Don says, we didn't see this guys reaction to the ticket.

Cell phone use while driving is another one that so many of us abuse to no end, not caring about the implications. It's very sad to watch society change the way it has/is.

Hey if you are all alone that's one thing but if you are sitting on a road with a 35 mph speed limit that most people do 60 on waiting to make a left hand turn just over the hill, with NO TURN SIGNAL, see ya later. Both you and some unsuspecting victim may lose or have their lives changed forever.... not to mention the families.

The other common scene today is a mother in a minivan with children making a turn in a busy intersection, on the phone, no turn signal. Thats' not funny at all. That's sad.

I don't think it's a joking matter when people die because we don't exercise some of the most basic courtesies to one another.

But that's just my opinion. I break the rules too but that doesn't mean it's ok.

Yes, that would be nice, because on the surface the whole thing seems like it was scripted for Barney Fife.

From the article:

But he does admit to challenging the officer's questions during the stop.
I suspect his "challenging" went a bit too far and his running mouth ended up getting him thrown in jail.
